I think it is reasonable to put all the mainstays of the CL team who played well for us over an extended period on the list: Hyypia, Hamman, Carra and Gerrard. To be a legend you must in part be judged by what you have won for LFC. Not sure that on a list of all time greats players who no matter how good they were did not bring back major honours can really be included.

Much though I love Fowler I would have to exclude him from the list.

      Disagree.
The name of Fowler is inscribed into the LFC lore forever, medals or not.

Hmm ... My pick would be:

Gerrard, Carragher, Fowler, Owen, Hyypiä, McManaman ... Maybe I'd add Biščan too, but just for a laugh

Decent player but never, ever a great for us.

winning a few cups would be enough to make legends out of stevie and the rest in nearly any other club ... but we have higher standards
                i dont think thats true.

for instance, carra would have been a legend in my eyes just for the sort of player that he is,a give everything type player.

and if for nothing else, his radio interview last week was enough to earn him legendary status.

in any how, theres teams that never win anything, nothing on a regular basis as you say they have to.

i think its unfair to say that just because that team never achieved anything that they dont have any legendary players.
You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

I believe he was a great player, but would have probably seen the best of him if he played in a team like we have today. Back in them days, LFC team wasn't what it should be. He did prove himself with Real Madrid mind ... However, he would never be a true legend courtesy of his bosman transfer that screwed Liverpool.

Since that period would it be fair to say we've not produced any?

Certainly players who've come close (Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen, Stephen Gerrard) but would they be regarded as all time greats?
At least spell the ****ing names correctly.

Fowler, Gerrard, Carragher, Hyppia and may be Hamann should be in the LFC hall of fame once they are retired for good and in my opinion they are LFC Legends

Gerrard is the only one that belongs on that industrious list. Hopefully he can go on to top it.

Actually, changed my mind after reading Tomas' post. Fowler would make the HOF but not just for his footballing. Kenny aside, is there a player who has been more loved? Don't think so.

You wouldn't put Carra in there?

Not yet, when you look at the quality of CHs we've had he doesn't really measure up. Hansen, Hughes, Lawrenson, Yeats, Smith etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, he's a warrior, but I'd need to see him repeating last years performances for a couple of years more before I'd put him in that exalted company.

BTW I do really understand why those who haven't seen those mentioned above would put him in the HOF. TBH If I hadn't seen them I would probably insist that he should be in the HOF.

That's fair argument, must say being a younger feller I never saw the above play , only from highlights re-runs etc. One thing that does stand out for me was that Hansen did say Carra was a better CB than he ever was, now wether he was just being kind I don't know, but that seems a pretty decent vote of confidence.
