Carra IS a better CH than Hansen. But it's difficult to rate players across generations. In relative terms, Hansen was better than his peers to a greater extent than Carra is. AND he scored more goals. It wasn't unusual to see hansen in the oppostions penalty box

if win win 19 and 20 next year then stevie and carra will deserve to have their names up with dagleish and the rest.

winning a few cups would be enough to make legends out of stevie and the rest in nearly any other club ... but we have higher standards
I disagree. To the older supporters, Billy Liddel stood as a colossus for the Reds. He didn't play in great sides as Dalglish, Souness, Hughes, smith etc did, but he is every inch a legend and belongs in the hall of fame.

By that logic Billy Liddle will not be in our hall of fame.Try talking about him to some of the elder fans. They believe he was the greatest red ever.

Ha...Seen that publiusscipio said the same thing..I did not read the entire thread before responding.)

Hmm.. his tenure here was short, but eventful.
Not played here long enough I think, even though I loved him as a player.

Yeah I kinda knew that would be the answer but surely what he acheived and how he affected our team regardless of length of time served is what puts him up there among the greats.
A truly world class player who helped us achieve so much in his short time.

Not sure I agree about the truly world class bit but a wonderful player nonetheless. He always comes across as a true gent as well. It's a real shame we didn't sign him earlier. He would have been a perfect replacement for Big Jan.

Hansen said that Carra was a better defender than he ever was. We went on to explain that by saying that they were completely different types of players and that his own strengths were on the ball rather than putting tackles in.

I suppose if you could combine the two you would have the perfect CB. As to which one of the two is the better CB, I would still say Hansen.

I think he is a world class player mate and I don't use that lightly. It is a shame we didn't bring him earlier in his career especially when we were crying out for a CM of his class under uncle Roy. Instead we signed Ince:whatever:

I can see your point. Maybe we need two lists?

i think on a pure fans favvourite list, Fowler would be high up on that list,
I'm sure other fan cult faves would be the likes of Biscan Gary Mac etc etc

but agree that on an all time legends list, Fowler didnt achieve enough during his carrer to be high on the list.

for instance, carra would have been a legend in my eyes just for the sort of player that he is,a give everything type player.

and if for nothing else, his radio interview last week was enough to earn him legendary status.

in any how, theres teams that never win anything, nothing on a regular basis as you say they have to.

i think its unfair to say that just because that team never achieved anything that they dont have any legendary players.

i think the title "Legend" is used too often and without thought. that said there are some players who give a club more than cups and titles.

Fowler represented not just the club but the vast majority of the fans. if he never won anything then he would still be on my personal list of legends.

i never seen liddel play but i have read about him and the effect he had on the whole club and how he was respected by players and staff even 20 years after he was gone from the club. so i could not argue against his inclusion

didi hamman while he was a great player for us i just dont think he qualifies

                                but thats just my opinion
Im only on here for silly season
