Agreed. He has talent. I still recall him ripping the french to pieces in the opening game of the 02 World Cup. Plus he did work hard on the right when he played there for us and tracked back well. Going forward he was good at beating a man with skill and close control, his crossing was pants, but when he did put in a good one, he was dangerous. I think he once got three assists in a game for his crossing (was it Arsenal in the Carling??) and ripped the Manc fullback to bits in the Carling Cup Final. Just a **** of a person though.

I never said Diouf had no talent, but he was absolutely **** for us.

He had a two month spell at the start of one season (the one when we lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal through a Pires curler from 25 yards - in fact Diouf destroyed Ashley Cole that day) when he was excellent - which included the League Cup game at Blackburn when he set up three goals (from the left wing, IIRC).

But, like it or not, he was bought as a striker and he was bought to score goals. He didn't. As has been pointed out, he went an entire season without a goal and got about two in his first season.

All for £11m.

I remember him for being rubbish first, and for being a vile individual second.
