Strangely enough when I was setting off from Piccadilly Station in Manchester to get to Birmingham for the flight to Crete before the CL Final, Macari was just getting out of a taxi to travel down to London to work for Sky. He's a ****ing little shortarse and still has the same haircut he had in 1977...

There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Didn't we almost sign Macari too?

he was on Shanks' hitlist - we almost signed him then he changed his mind and signed for the scum. Shanks' said "He couldn't play anyway. I only wanted him for the reserve team!"
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
            It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
            Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

And he's still bitter about it. Had he signed for us (if he could get in the team) he'd have won a load of league and European Cup winning medals instead of just the FA Cup...

That scuffy ****ing deflected shot from Lou Macari prevented us from winning the treble although of course we did win other trebles in 1984 and 2001 but the Mancs cling on to the desperate belief that theirs in 1999 is the only 'propoh' one...

Or it could actually mean Ian Callaghan and a reference to our first EC win.

                Paranoid gimp.
