hey listen dude..they are many strikers in the league who are way much better ..i'm talking about the so called average strikers...for instance saha,bent,keane,defo,yakubu,martins...i could go on with more. the only reason kuyt is still around is bcos of his price tag. 10 million for only one season..that doesnt make any sense and would look really bad on rafa.bottom line he is never gonna be the striker we all want him to be no matter how many seasons it takes. at one look you wouldnt know whether a striker has the potential to be a great one...just dont see that in kuyt

                I was just joking but...

Kuyt scored a good number of goals for us in the league. It was his first season and he mostly played quite deep. I think he is better than all the players on your list to be honest. We could get most of our money back if we wanted so I really don't see the price tag as a very valid argument to be honest. I think Rafa is a smart enough guy to know that his reputation would be hurt most by failure.

Rafa is ruthless mate. If he didn't think he was good enough, he would have sold him no mattter how much he payed for him.

I like Kuyt but im not sure whether he has the quality to be a top quality striker. However I'd still have him over most of the strikers from that list.
You have to remember that for some players it may be harder to score for a better club, even though yiu get better service, as :

                  1) The whole club is not absed around you

                  2) The opposition defence would play a higher line and attack more when playing against a smaller club. When they play against a top club, they sit back therefore leaving very little space for the stikers to manouver.

With no offence to all the KUYT bashers but JUSTCRUISIN (whos a WUM pussy) you guys are talking out of yer arseholes.
If any of you watched Kuyt last season you would see a player who gives 100% every game, packs a wicked shot, can score goals, can help in defence & link up very well.
Coming over from the weaker DUTCH league to score 13 goals is a good record. This coming season he WILL prove you all wrong.

I still think we are lacking the predatory selfish ****** striker that Owen was (in his prime - a long time ago) or God. Torres, Voronin, Crouch and Kuyt. none of theem are going to bang in 20 or anywhere near it.

Its still a massive improvement and I hate to sound negative. I think that its a decent couple of player, an improvement on the likes of Heskey and Cisse, and good to have a bit of depth and a few options up front, but still dont have a **** your pants striker. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong and soon!

off course he can score goals...but 14 outta 48 games for someone who is worth 11pounds....even a 2 year old would know thats not good enough.

Milan are **** too I take it. Spurs are also a very good side. Also worth noting that despite their lack of centrebacks Chelsea still let in 2 goals against only 2 teams last season I think - so scoring against them was not as simple as you might think.
