What do you mean 'current striker'? In our squad? In any league?
A striker playing at the moment who has scored 20 premier league goals in a season.
I bet none of them are realistic players who we could sign.

Well, there's been a few. Granted that out of them, none of the ones I want would be realistic.

I'd call someone who could consistently score one in every two games a goal-scorer. Names put around this summer: Eto'o, Villa, Klose, Huntelaar.

I'd be happy if our main striker was getting 17-18 goals a season.

We could probably do without a striker who's going to get 20 goals +, but that would require atleast one world-class winger and/or a drastic change in the way we attack.

With the way we play now, and the lack of quality on our wings, we'd need someone to score alot of goals for us to win the league this season.

Anyway, I was only talking about 20 goals in the first place because Redspin said that Rooney had scored that many. I was just saying he wrong.

Only ones I can think of are Henry, GOD and Van Horse

OK Andrew Cole has, but he doesn't count.

        Who are these "few"?

In recent years: Drogba and Shearer

And then there's not so good who've managed 20: Andy Johnson, Beattie, Viduka, Hasselbaink.

And quite a few who've had about 17/18: Bent, McCarthy, Anelka, Forssell, Owen(yay!).

Anyway, what's the point here? I know Drogba, Van Nistelrooy and Henry aren't realistic targets. But we're still short of a goal-scorer.

United didn't do too badly because of the contribution of their midfield to attack.

Look; short of a radical overhaul of the way we play, and if we don't bring in a top class winger(s), the only way that we are going to be effective enough in attack to win the league is by having an absolute dynamite striker up front.
Do you not think the way our attack has played this season is a radical overhaul? Hell when we attack we have one of the CMs + LW+RW+2*CF in the box.

Rafa has shown in preseason that we WILL be concentrating on attack this year.

Seeing the approach of the team in pre-season vs. last year, it's night and day. Do you not see that?
