Anyway and not directed at you mate but we've gone completely off topic.Originally posted by alunevans View Post31 goals from his last 77 matches is pretty impressive surely?
My intial thread was about the fact that changes are being to our style of play to suit our new players.
Considering our new players are attacking players that for me sounds bloody good.

If we had wide players as good as Ronaldo and Giggs were last year then we would probably be alright without an out-and-out goal scorer. Problem is, we didn't and we still don't, and if we are going to continue to look so toothless in attack, then we're going to need someone pretty ****ing good up front to bang the goals in.Originally posted by Big Dave View PostI'm not trying to get into an argument, but look at those other player for a minute.........
Drogba has only really had one productive season for Chelsea regarding scoring goals. I wouldn't put Rooney into the bracket of 25 goals a season either. So if these two teams can perform so well without their strikers really banging the goals away...........why do we need a "Michael Owen" all of a sudden.
We have improved our options going forward this year, but not nearly enough to displace either of United or Chelsea.

and yet despite this supposed lack of providing-type quality, crouchinho's goals to minutes ratio is better than henry's or drogba's! crouch is the man and just because he can't head the ball don't mean ****.Originally posted by Hooz View PostIf we had wide players as good as Ronaldo and Giggs were last year then we would probably be alright without an out-and-out goal scorer.
