Seriously? I'm really sorry, mate! I just send this PM to Anfield, Paul and Michael so somekind of sanction is imminent!

"To the boardroom and stockholders on Est1892.

After returning to Est after a months vacation it has become increasingly clear that young ShagmeAlonso is fighting a losing battle in his struggle/effort to hang on to his somewhat limited faculties.

It seems that his has finally lost all grip of reality. I had a brief conversation with his mother, who's worried that he spends too much time on the internet and in particular Est1892. "My little boy hasn't left his room since last July. He just sits there with his Lolita doll and a poster of Syd hammering away on his keyboard shouting; must reach 5000/10000/20000. He calls me RedChilli and Poulcooper or Ryan if he's angry.

I suggest that we limit his post count to 5 posts a day and keep him in the chatroom. I believe that Shaggy could hurt Est1892 if he is allowed to roam free in his effort to reach 20000 before the season starts. Furthermore it might be a good idea if you block Kaips posts and all the other usual suspects, so we don't upset Shaggy and push him over the edge. I would suggest that you let Mumsefan supervise the procedure. That should ensure a quick and easy ban procedure if/when Shaggys reaction becomes too much to handle.

    Yours truly

It is a mixed bag that article some reasonable points but a constant retreat into mud slinging insults and stupid comments. I seem to remember that when Garcia played on when injured against Everton and played brilliantly against them in past seasons no one complained.

A real problem at the start of last season was the **** form of key players like Reina, Carragher, Alonso and Gerrard. They were playing so badly none of them deserved an assured place in the team and so I think we saw more rotation, or at least different changes than Rafa would have made otherwise.

I think the criticism of rotation lats year is a complete smokescreen. Some players weren't good enough and some simply started the season in **** form. In similar periods of bad form United and Chelsea both relied on individual brilliance - from Ronaldo or Drogba to see them through. Last season Gerrard didn't sparkle and Garcia when fit struggled too which was a big disappointment but I don't think either could blame Rafas rotation policy.

There is a very valid criticism that in games like Sheffield we did not go with the attacking mentality that can be demanded in the PL but that is a whole different accusation to those leveled.

Shaggy - If you wrote that article funny though it is, you have way too much spare time on your hands. If someone else wrote it I seriously feel for their sanity.

              I didn't write it!

I got it via NewsNow - it was on that Sportingo site. Totally biased author, whoever wrote it. He's virtually deluded.

If you want my take...here it is (just ignore Fulham ).

Nothing groundbreaking really, only a short piece. Those following my several attempts to get into football writing will recall that website I wrote for, well the editor told me to create a blog to keep on writing stuff down. I'm in the middle of a Premiership preview thing at the mo.

I'll return later to read your piss taking comments.

                  "Jonesie23 Liverpool
                  Last Season: 3rd
When Liverpool finally make the move away from Anfield, those in charge of demolishing the old ground are likely to find several ‘missing pieces of the jigsaw’ buried below the Kop. The phrase is seemingly uttered every summer as the Reds unveil their newest big money signing, but still the wait for their first title since 1990 goes on.

The latest jigsaw completing component is £20m man Fernando Torres, who arrives from Spain with a fancy haircut and stellar reputation. Torres is a quality striker, possessing great pace and terrific finishing ability, but at just 23, he may need a while to get used to the English game, and so Dirk Kuyt and Peter Crouch could have to take on much of the goalscoring burden.

One man who won’t have to get used to the Premiership is Yossi Benayoun, who joins from West Ham, while Ryan Babel, the 20-year-old attacking talent who has already played several games for the Dutch national side, swaps Ajax for Anfield. It is potentially a more important signing than Torres.

A good start is vital. In previous years Liverpool’s title challenge was over before it had begun. It seemed as though they had given up in the league by February and were concentrating on Europe. All could change this time.

Rafa Benitez, ignoring the advice of many ‘experts’ around him, tends to prefer a squad containing several players who can hit the 10-15 goal mark, rather than recruiting the mythical ‘30 goal a season striker.’

Torres, Kuyt, Crouch, Steven Gerrard and new signing Andriy Voronin are all capable of hitting double figures, and with talents like Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Agger, Riise, Alonso, Mascherano, Pennant and, whisper it quietly, a fit again Harry Kewell playing alongside them, the Reds have a great chance to finally complete that jigsaw they’ve been working on for too long.

Key Man: Steven Gerrard. Of course. The best midfield player in the world needs to hit the ground running if the Reds are to conduct a serious title challenge.
One to Watch: Jermaine Pennant. Showing overdue signs of maturity, the winger has been impressive in pre-season and could surprise a few people who were too quick to write him off.
This Season: Is this finally their year? Only time will tell, but Rafa is better equipped than he’s ever been and will go mighty close."

                  Good read as always, Jonesie.

I think the key issue is the attacking midfielders. Compared to Scum and Chelski our players there looks light weight IMO.

                  Goalkeepers
                  25 Jose Reina
                  26 Scott Carson

                  Defenders:
12 Fabio Aurelio 17 Alvaro Arbeloa 23 Jamie Carragher 29 Gabriel Paletta 3 Steve Finnan 39 4 Sami Hyypia 46 Jack Hobbs 48 Emiliano Insua 5 Daniel Agger 6 John Arne Riise

                  Midfielders:
14 Xabi Alonso 20 Javier Mascherano 22 Mohamed Sissoko 26 Paul Anderson 8 Steven Gerrard

                  Attacking Midfielders:
11 Yossi Benayoun 16 Jermaine Pennant 25 Leto 42 Nabil El Zhar 7
                  Harry Kewell

                  Strikers:
10 Andrei Voronin 15 Peter Crouch 18 Dirk Kuyt 19 Ryan Babel 9 Fernando Torres

This is where we will suffer. I believe that we will see a quality defender signed before the window is closed. Paletta is not good enough and Sami is getting too old.

It's probably too late to do anything about the attacking midfielders and Kewell, Leto, Yossi and most of all Pennant will have to reach new heights for no. 19 to arrive this season. I have to say that I doubt it.

Spot on sir!!! cant be doing with all this miserable stuff. I watch footy because I love it, so i cant see the point in bothering (and moaning) with something you dont actaully like. Strange, some people. Mind you, it was happening in the seventies and eighties as well, when we were winning everything in sight, so nothing is new!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a blind optimist and I know we won't win the quadruple this year. I have the odd player I can't get on with (Riise ) but generally this holier-than-thou pessimism-disguised-as-realism gets on my tits.
