Anderson Loan Deal Completed + David Martin?

Liverpool Football Club have today confirmed winger Paul Anderson will spend the season on loan at Swansea City.
The pacey 19-year-old will stay at the Vetch Field until May 3, 2008 - though this could be extended if Swansea reach the League One playoffs.

Anderson signed for the Reds from Hull City aged 17 in January 2006.

It marked a remarkable turnaround for the Leicester-born starlet, who a year earlier had been released as a trainee from West Brom.

He was part of our Youth Cup winning side in 2006 but has yet to make his competitive senior debut.

The right-sider has also been capped by England Under-19s.

Should have gone to a better team if he was any good. At least I suppose it should mean he will play most games when fit tho.

Looks like Ginner Martin might be about to join him...

I thought Anderson was meant to be a better prospect (or as good as) Adam Hamill? Yet Hamill's gone to a high end Championship team and Anderson League One.

A championship club would have more faith in Hamill though, seeing as he has experience of a full season in the scottish premier league and has also played in the scottish cup final

Surely anderson is going to learn more playing in swanseas 1st team getting the **** kicked out of him than he is in our reserves?

My point was not about Nationality. I'm suprised Anderson didn't go to a Championship side as well.

I think it is as much about the quality of the manager/coach and the style of play as the level of football. Anderson was a better prospect but seemed to go back in developmental terms last year whereas Hammil made strides forward in Scotland. I think people expect all players to come through very young here, I get the impression Rafa will give good prospects a little longer to improve then many on here would if they show progression.

As Rafa has said before, he would like it if the youth/reserves could enter the league separately from the senior squad. If they are not yet ready for the first team then loaning out is the only way to give these players the experience and competition they need to step-up their development.

Good keeper. He's impressed me this pre-season.

Thing is I feel sorry for young keepers at Liverpool as they are never going to break in the team because of Pepe. He's a world class keeper and is still very young so he still has another 10 years in the game. Other keepers dont stand a chance and either leave (Dudek) or go out on loan (Carson).

If your feeling sorry for the young keepers, think of the young central midfielders
