      Why would Mascherano want to leave if Liverpool want to make him a permanent signing?

      He's been a superb signing for us, but he's also got a lot to thank Rick Parry and Rafa for.

        I doubt he would for footballing reasons, but who knows, he might have trouble settling in. Having a mate nearby certainly helps

              In recent years Man Utd and Chelsea have done business over Juan Sebastian Veron and Jon Obi Mikel. I don't remember Ferguson going even more purple over those two. Kenyon also tried to 'tap up' Rio Ferdinand not too long ago...
