What's with comparing him to Gerrard - his reds came mostly at the beginning of his career while Neill seems to be getting worse.

Neill stepped up a level in Germany and I honestly think he's better than Finnan. Plays right left and centre and can even push forward.

I'm not basing it on one sole fact. His disciplinary record is no accident!

His reputation precedes him, and i don't think he's Liverpool class - and i mean that in more ways than one.

Saying that, he'd be a notable improvement on Kantkamp

I`m not surprised at you rating neill, just very surprisesd at how little you rate finnan. The fella has been as consistently good as carra for 2 years now, if not more so. AND was second only to gerrard in assists last season.
