Perhaps Kewell is on his way to Villa like Carson and we've been asked not to play him today?

You would expect Kewell to be the type of player O'Neill would be interested in alright, he would relish trying to get the most out of him. This may not be too far from the truth Iain
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Dont know about that.I think O'Neill is going for youth and pace this year. With players like Moore,Reo-Coker,Agbonlahor and Young.Carew will be the big man that adds muscle and holds the ball up and link.He was linked with SWP too and he is another who would fit in.They wont be easy to beat at Villa park but we have to win these games.I have a few quid on Torres to score first
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
                everyone wants to know

I thought MON has already asked us about the availability of Kewell in the past, personally, come next season, or even at the start of this season, I fully expect him to be sniffing around again. IMO MON would relish having him at Villa, and it has been strangely quiet regarding Kewells future at the club this summer too, which could also suggest Kewell could be eying up a free transfer at the end of the season.

its our year......... 19 is coming starting with a nice present from martin o neill
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

whilst we're all hoping for an impressive start today i can't help thiking it's going to be difficult to break Villa down. O'Niell will have them well drilled and Rafa is likely to go with a cautious approach in the first half at least. I expect John Arne to play left mid rather than Babel - i think hearing Rafa's comments at the PC that he'll be relying on our more experienced players at the start of the season.

                      Torres will play though!
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
                      It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
                      Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

You could be right but I am just saying he is going for a youthful pacey looking sideI dont see how the above player could fit into that.

I'd much rather Babel start that Kewell, so I hope that Kewell news is true. I don't think Rafa would start Babel even if Kewell is out though. Probably play Arbeloa LB, Riise LM.

If Kewell is not in the squad (i highly doubt this) he is either injured again or going somewhere, IMO. Be very surprised if he doesnt start.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24
