    I want the man's babies

get the **** in you little beauty,
I was unbelievabley dejected after villa got the equaliser, i thought 'here we go again' ..yet another away performnace in which we've dominated but ultimately failed to take our chances, so frustrating like.
Then come of the hour...come of theeeee man, STEVIE G...G FORCE pops up with the most sublime free kick you are ever likely to see, not the lad's speciality by any means but it's Steve Gerrard we're discussing i suppose.
I know i slagged him a bit last season but i still stick by that tbh, it was his lack of apparent effort in certain games that upset me most but today he showed what he was all about, he looked fired up and the stevie g of old.
Once again, what a strike san, what a strike.

Torres played well given a few more games he'll be on form I think

Kuyt played well if a bit anonymous at times

Gerrard as you say is the man, I hope we're finding that bit of luck we need to carry us through the season

Carra was immense even though he gave the penno away, thought Agger could maybe have done a bit more to help.

Was bit concerned about our left back spot, l think it was easy to see how Heinze would have fit it into our plans today.
Overall decent show, but we do need to step up against the chavs next weekend and i'm sure we can do it

He looked like he really wanted it today which was a change from last year

Loved the celebration. Showed how much it meant to all the players

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Can't believe I will say this, but that is 'almost' exactly what I was thinking Marky. These boards were on the verge of sacking everyone (again), writing the season off before the other potential top 3 had kicked a ball, yet up steps captain fantastic to score a goal that IMO was better than that free kick of 'that' Brazilian a few years back (I forget his name).

Thought we played prety well considering it was the first game of the season, and we were away from home.

Loads of positives as everyone has already mentioned, but let's be honest there were some problematic areas that Rafa will need to sort pretty quickly.

Our defense looked very offish and they opened us up a few times, particularly Young.
How nobody has mentioned the total inadequacy of Pennant just yet is beyond me, he was probably the worst player on the field...again, but thankfully I don't see him starting many games this season.

Possibly the best two things to take from the game (besides the 3 points) were that Torres and Babel, don't look like they'll take long to settle. Torres was very impressive and Babel was just great when he came on.

I've just read some of the match reports on newsnow and you have to wonder if the press actuall watch the matches. They don't slate us but they talk absolute ****e.

"Torres, the £30m striker who's only at LFC because man utd never wanted him" is one of the stupidist and non factual statements I read in the post match reviews.
