Whether they attack us or not is irrelevant, every team attacks at some point, and we can deal with it, without ditching the notion of scoring away goals.

We're capable of netting 2 or 3 out there, and if we do, it'll kill the tie.
We'll see what Rafa decides to do.

Either way, you're saying my strike force lacks pace because I picked the CROW instead of Torres?

Rotate a bit by all means but we must play a strong team. They're no Liverpool, but they're no mugs either.

I'd play the exact team AA put down.

It's quite a difference. Torres is quick and potentiall explosive, dynamic and a total nightmare.

Voronin is intelligent, methodical and with nice touch. Not quick though.

Your team is pointlessly weak and toothless IMO.

I'd play a less than full strength team:

              Reina
              Arbeloa
              Insua
              Hyppia
              Agger
              Pennant
              Levia
              Momo
              Leto
              Crouch
              Crow
That team sucks. If we played that we would be out.Get real.
I expect to see Momo play and Crouch play
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

There is a point though, as I explained. Priority number 1 is the league.

How can we be out in one leg?

                    I picked Momo and Crouch.

I am being realistic, you can't play your best (or YOUR favourite) 11 players every game unless you want us to win nothing.

That doesnt mean throwing the fecking CL

How stupid would it be to pick a crap team, get knocked out and miss out on all the money?

                        Utterly daft and pointless.

If we got beat something like 2-0, it'd be a majorly uphill task to turn it around...as you well know.

Nobody is saying pick the same XI every game, are they? It's the SECOND game of the fecking season, if we cant keep a stable first team at THIS point, when can we?

Your lineup would see us out of the CL before it even starts properly.

They are no Mickey Mouse team. They beat Lyon at the weekend.
They will have home advantage and you expect us to throw a load of players together that have never played together as a unit.Madness
Expect all the top boys to play and 1or2 changes.

Sometimes I think you are just after a good argument and you exaggerate things to provoke a response, a bit like fatty(no disrespect but he did do that).
Well I'm not going to argue with you. All I will ask is what is the point in having those players in our squad if they are not good enough to play in the 3rd qualifying round of the champions league?
In my opinion, that team is good enough to get something from that game, THERE IS NO POSSIBILITY of us getting knocked out in 1 leg. It is a 2 legged tie and I have not mentioned anything about a team for the 2nd leg.
It is NOT pointless, the point is that priority number 1 is the league and LFC under Rafa has a long history of not turning up to the following league game after an away CL match.

If you want to push me into a corner then if the choice is a long run in the champions league and 4th place or knocked out against Toulose and win the title then I will opt for the latter.

**** the money, that's the Yanks problem. The money we gain from winning the Premiership will more than compensate.

There is no way Rafa is going to put out the strongest team against Toulouse. There will be a few important factors to keep in mind. We will be playing at 3:30 when the temperature would be around 29-30 and it would sap a lot of energy out of the players. 4 days later we have Chelsea at home which will be a very important match for us and if our key players are not on full fitness it could hurt us. In the week when we play our home leg, we play sunderland away and toulouse and derby at home and after that there are 2 weeks of international matches. We can certainly unleash the strongest team for the home leg if the need arises.
I think Rafa will put out a team on wed that will keep possession well and he will prioritise keeping a clean sheet.
                                The team would be
                                Reina
                                Finnan/Arbeloa
                                Carra
                                Agger
                                Riise
                                Pennant/Yossi
                                Masch
                                Stevie
                                Leto
                                Crouch
                                Voronin

Crouch will most definitely start because he has a good record in Europe plus it will be a chance for him to show why he should start against Chelsea without Terry.
