    Mclaren is not England.

Carragher is not God. He is one of the best 3 CB's in the england and doesn't deserve to be messed about like he has been obver the last 10 years! But if he's got a guaranteed start then he's got what he asked for.

If he's had enough and is throwing his rattle from the pram then acknowledge it for what it is and don't bull**** about it. I still care about England, and I think Jamie does too, but he's not going to be messed about any longer at this stage of his career, I understand that, but these 2 games could see us not qualifying. Shafting your country because of one ginger tosser isn't an honourable stand, it childish petulance!

I support his original stance, but I wouldn't support this stance if it means england going into competitive games with a weakened 1st team. Friendlies are a different story.

Carra is still very underrated by non-LFC fans and at this stage of his career and after performing as he's done for the last few years there's really nothing more he can do to change those peoples' minds.

I'm glad he's stuck to his guns, he would only have been cast aside again when McClown's favourites came back from injury. The man owes England nothing because England's never done him any favours.

If England don't make it to Euro2008 it wont be because Carragher didn't play but hopefully it'll spell the end of McClaren's comical reign

"England" hasn't done anything to Carra! Sven and the ginger tosser have.

What carra said when he announced this decision, was that he wasn't going to be a bit part of england squads at his age. He feels he deserves better than he's had, and I agree with him!!!! But he accepts footy is a game of opinions and he says he has no problem with this. But that as he's not going to get much better, if he's not starting now and he's picking King, Brown etc who are younger than him, then when is he going to start? If he's not going to start then he'll concentrate on LFC and allow these youngsters who are supposedly better than him the squad experience. He also said he'd be there for england if they needed him.

I totally agree with all of that!!

So, if Mclaren has offered him a guaranteed start, all his previous rhetoric was just a front to cover the fact he's pissed off with the whole england set-up and regardless of situation, will never play for england again. If that's true, it wont make any difference to my view of Carra as a liverpool player, but I will think a tiny bit less of him as a man, firstly for coming to that conclusion but mostly for spinning his whole public line about why he was doing it.

He's been disrespected and ignored for far too long, given he is easily one of the most competent and consistent English players currently playing. Playing the likes of Brown, King, Woodgate ahead of him makes absolutely no sense to me, and I doubt it does to anyone else apart from McLaren.
Typical of England though isn't it? They treat their players like ****ing ****, the managers and the fans do. Have done as far back as I can remember. I really find it difficult to give a **** about that team. Lines on a map doesn't count for **** ahead of actual values in my book, and so much that is associated with the England national team is ****ing bereft of them. The fans boo their own players and managers at the drop of a hat, the FA that runs the whole show is a shower of ****e, and then there is the restrictive ideas of Englishness it rouses in people. Plus I'd rather watch paint dry. The fewer players we have associated with this bollocks the better.

If you are going to be constantly over looked for England then it gets to you been a player that plays at the top and has won many medals domestically and in Europe while other players like Campbell,King,Brown etc....getting in ahead of him.....

....he's better off without playing for them ****ers.

                      His heart is in Liverpool

                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The thing is a start in a friendly is not a genuine part of the squad going forward is it. If Terry was out long term then there would possibly be a valid criticism of Carra here, but as it is there really isn't and the whole thing has been blown out of all proportions by the media. We can easily fill in with whoever McClaren fancies in this one game and Carra said he would come back in an emergency which this quite obviously is not.

The only person it is even vaguely a problem for is McClaren and I don't see Carra owing him a favour to be honest.

                            Cool ! I have a stalker.

I don't suppose he ever will!

I doubt he gives much of a toss about the support he has either. But seeing as this is a site about what we think and want to say, i thought I'd post my thoughts. If that's ok with you?

Sept 8th & 12th are competitive games. If he's needed for these games, then I'd like him to play. I totally agree he should turn his nose up at friendlies or bench warming duties!!

If he doesn't want to play, then wants the point, his heart wont be in it which is what makes him such a great player for LFC. He's jibbed it, i'm glad, end of far as i'm concerned
