What I meant is that he will be seen as this summers best signing in three, four years time from now.

Lucas has to be given some serious time, the difference in footballing culture between Brazil and here is emmense, and not easily traversed. If we see anything at all for the first 6 months I'd be suprised, and 2009 is really the year we should be expecting him to be cementing a regular starting place if his potential is to be realised here.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Lucas won the bola de Ouro (Golden Ball) is an award given each year, since 1973, by the authoritative Brazilian magazine «Placar» to the best player in the Brazilian National Championship. It is practically the equivalent to a Footballer of the Year award. It is based on accrued points which players are given according to their performance after each matchday.

Pointless thread. The lad has played only one full match + 10 mins as a sub in a previous match.

20 years old, capped for Brazil, youngest ever Brazilian player of the year, already being spoken of as one of the future stars of the Brazilian midfield, and learning from the likes of Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Sissoko.
9m euros seems like a bargain to me.
I don't expect much from him this season at all, but he is clearly one for the future of LFC."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."
