I thought Kuyt was excellent. He worked his absolute arse off as did everyone else.

That said, we played great, minus Kuyt, Riise and Alonso all of whom were missing something in the final third all day long. Stevie needs to see more of the ball going forward and dictating the distribution to the wings. Period. When partnered with SG, Xabi's job should be to provide cover, disrupt the midfield and nip forward when he can, end of. Riise was just bad; Essien owned him for the most part and his shoot first mentality cost us some decent chances today. He couldn't get a decent cross in for most of the day and looked a yard off the pace. Kuyt the same; He did very little in attack, and his saved header aside (that was given as a goal kick), he didn't show me much. I think Torres would benefit from Crouch, TBH.

Otherwise, I have no complaints aside from the atrocious penalty call. Take that point and build a title upon the lessons learned.
totally agree (except the Crouch part)
      We come not to play.

Styles booked three players, two of the cards were ignored because it was going to send Ben Haim or Essien or both off. Disgrace.

          Dirky was outstanding today.

            1) Atrocious decisions- wtf was that penalty about ffs?
            2) kept slowing down play and interfering with smooth play - waving cards all over the pitch for no damn good reason. Not allowing quick free kicks etc
            3) slow as feck and keeps getting in the way of play usually ours

But the lads should be proud of themselves. They really should - the one good thing is, this should not dent their confidence because they know they were the better team easily.

Also for people who thought Rafa is too negative - he put on Babel and Crouch whereas Mourinho stuck on another CB... that's a good sign.
There was only one team trying to win it today... and we should be proud of our lads. What a goal that was, Torres!

FA really needs to look at reffing decisions ffs. What with the Fulham fiasco and now this!
Nob Styles, thats his new name as far as I am concerned
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I wonder if our better results against them in europe as opposed to the prem could be attributed partly to a better standard of refereeing, just a thought

Mourinho: " It was a fair result" :whatever:

He's a clever **** is Mourinho. I have noticed a pattern in his post match interviews. He only tends to give us credit when the result is in his favour. If they had beaten us he would have said we were the better team and deserved something out of the game. I remember him giving us credit when Chelsea beat us in the cl 1st leg last season.

alonso seems to have go off the boil. looked disinterested on a number of occasions.should have done better with the space and time he had on the ball.well done to arbeloa..thought he was one of the better performers.and finally on kuyt....90mins of play ...not even a single shot on target.his poor cross at the end of the game summed up the "quality"the man has. even risse had at least on shot on target.

My patience with Kuyt is wearing thin.

Indeed, that's a positive move - plus we were all over Chelsea today. I know we were robbed of two points but we certainly looked the part.
