Yeah, in the replay he looks to be getting fed up with Chelsea protesting so he gives the ball to Riise then clearly brandishes his yellow card at Essien who immediately reacts as if he has been booked (and therefore sent off).

This is ages after Terry and the rest of the Chelsea players have gone away.

I don't think he is corrupt at all. He just made (alot of) bad decisions.

      It happens all too frequently.

It was a real shame because the game was a good spectacle at that time (ie. the home team 1-0 up). That decision meant that Chelsea could try to defend the point.

You could say the same about 38047583476036705670 decisons throughout the season.

But, yeah...I agree, it was a ****ing woeful decision. Seriously bad.

Regarding the booking of Essien, I think he was indicating that a free kick had been given, he just forgot he had the card in his hand.

I wonder of Stevie G will get a fine. In his comments he was very critical of the Ref and Chelsea's 'gamesmanship'.

Remember he gave us that dodgy pen at Sheffield United last season.

He's just another alehouse ref who likes the limelight, makes me long for the days of Graeme Poll, or maybe not.

The twit today just wrecked a game of professional football with his incompetence. Nice one. Hope he's happy with his day's work. :whatever:
The ref is the CL final was not bribed- he was just doing Platini's dirty work for him ffs. Platini and his stupid anti English and anti- Liverpool sentiments

Rob Styles though is one of those man that sit there and wonder how to get himself on centre stage all the time. He likes the spotlight on him and it's not about football it's about him... Look - my decision, look - I am cool and preening... Bah!

The guy is a fecking prick.

                    Rafa is furious.

He more or less said that the ref must have been bribed but in other words.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I hope that we can get a replay but I dobt it even if we have the case to get one.

Definitely. Poll would have booked Essien once, twice, thrice, and not batted an eyelid.

Agree, he was woeful and if I had a day at work like he did, I'd be seriously disciplined for it. Cost us two valuable points & confidence going into our next game. Gave the Chavs a chance to extend their lead at the top, and the Mancs a chance to catch us.

                              I'm ****in livid.
