Keith Hackett, the ref's boss has just been on SSN apologising to both Rafa and Laurie Sanchez. Fair play, atleast they admit mistakes.

I want to hear those words coming direct from Styles' mouth; explain what infringement he thought he saw, acknowledge he was mistaken and apologise for making such a costly error. Then I will be happy to draw a line in the sand.

I am not accepting that this **** can make any number of inane decisions on match day, and he can avoid all the scrutiny by having his boss come on tv to apologise on his behalf.

What do you expect? Robots? He got it wrong, everyone knows that, he admits it. It is always going to happen. It cost us 2 points, but really, if we need to rely on Referee decisions to win games then we are not good enough a team.

Not signed. He had a bad day, made some terrible decisions and probably should have taken a step back and counted to ten when things were getting heated, but do we raise a petition if a player scores an own goal? or a keeper does a Jens Lehman. We are all human and I am pretty sure that as Stevie said it, Styles just cracked. Poll did it in the world cup but generally these guys are the best we have.

I would however sign a petition that promotes the retraining of referees to hand out more cards to players that push pressure on referees. John Terry will criticise everything in the hope of gettting something.
He should have been off.

I did like someones suggestion about the captains having one appeal to a referees decision which would result in consultation with the other officials or technology.

Exactly, these refs are supposedly the best in the country. I'd hate to see the standard in the lower leagues

Really? That's at least he (they) can do. At least he has the cojones to apologise.

Anyway, about this petition - why do we need to "grow up" etc.? It's not like this petition is going to change something or whatever. It's just there for us to sign, maybe release some anger by doing that and feel we have done something good and awesome.

We didn't rely on any of his decisions yesterday. In fact, we hardly got any. Chelsea benefited from his idiotic stupidity. We were winning at the time and that decision made us and the crowd flat.
