Rob Styles has been dropped from next weekend's Barclays Premier League refereeing list after his penalty blunder at Anfield on Sunday.
Styles has admitted he made an error in awarding Chelsea a second half penalty which allowed them to draw level after Fernando Torres had given Liverpool the lead.

Referees chief Keith Hackett has now confirmed Styles will be given next weekend off following the fall out from the controversial decision.

Not signed. He had a bad day, made some terrible decisions and probably should have taken a step back and counted to ten when things were getting heated, but do we raise a petition if a player scores an own goal? or a keeper does a Jens Lehman. We are all human and I am pretty sure that as Stevie said it, Styles just cracked. Poll did it in the world cup but generally these guys are the best we have.

I would however sign a petition that promotes the retraining of referees to hand out more cards to players that push pressure on referees. John Terry will criticise everything in the hope of gettting something.
He should have been off.

I did like someones suggestion about the captains having one appeal to a referees decision which would result in consultation with the other officials or technology.

I agree this petition is pointless, BUT:

In my opinion the guy is not allowed to have bad days! His only job is to referee between 40-45 matches per season and he gets quite good checks out of it.

In real world (our world) if you have a bad day in your job, you get warned. One time. Two times. Three times. But sooner or later, you get fired.

I'm not saying Rob Styles should be dropped or anything, but FA should really think about this. The whole world is watching their referees making huge mistakes!

I wish Colina would open a referee school. He would have make a lot of money out of it.

Take yesterday for example our players spent minutes arguing and protesting with Styles to no avail

That time could be spent viewing video evidence

The thing is referees are making mistakes like this week in week out

Jesus. How many teams every week across the country feel hard done by by dodgy refereeing decisions? If they all did a petition and got every ref sacked then were the **** would we be?
This is getting a bit silly IMO.

We'd start moving on to managers, then players etc etc tec. Then we'd have nothing to talk about.

Yeah, but knowing Macn and Chav dumbarses, they would probably try to convince the referee that the video is fake if the decision went against them. That's how they are, that's how they will be

I realise everybody is human and can make mistakes but there are quite a few referees who feel they have to be the spectacle rather than the game itself

Styles & Poll and a couple of others fall into that category

Invariably the best referees are the ones you dont hear much about

You just know Rooney, Giggs and Dot Cotton would be around the referee! You just know that. And if they got booked, all hell would break loose. It's just the way they are. Can't help it.
