And for what it's worth I think this is no punishment at all giving him a weekend off. The magnitude of that mistake deserves more than his boss coming on tv, acknowledging that one of the "professionals" under his charge made an error and as a result he wont be officiating next week. If you ask me that is not accountability. He'll be back in a couple of weeks making more stupid mistakes.
I think some people on here are underestimating the magnitude of the errors the guy made. I'm not saying we should be hounding him out of the game, I'm just saying there needs to be far more transparency, openness and accountability as far as referees are concerned.
And if they got booked, all hell would break loose. It's just the way they are. Can't help it. 



When I read this first line of your post 'to late you ****ing ****bag' I thought the 2nd line was going to read 'this has already been posted in another thread'.
