He was great today but he also played great the first few games for us last season and then some **** games so I will wait until I praise him to much.

I hope he will better week in week out this season, then Heinze, Aurelio and Insua will get it very tough to get a game in that position when he isn't rested or injured.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If we have heinze on our books shortly we have a strong left hand side for sure, gotta give it to rafa we sure as hell have a great squad now....2 missing links for me still, c.b cover and right wing using pennant as cover (even though he played well today).

Arbeloa has been a bit sexy time at LB for us, keep him there I say.

Really impressed with him, an excellent player and a total bargain at £2.6m - if we do bring Heinze in then I think he could really start to challenge Finnan for that RB spot.

I actually like the fact that other teams/press don't notice him.

He has looked quality so far IMO.

Solid in the tackle, and very quick too (kept up with SWP on numerous occasions)...his passing game is also top notch.

Riise has his work cut out if he wants to keep his spot in the team

I've noticed him smiling a lot also and it'd made me laugh out loud a few times which the wife has found to be a bit strange.

Great signing and have been really impressed with his 2 matches this season. Long may it last!

good thread. He was very good yesterday and showed good pace or more than one occasion to catch Drogba

Looking a good swap for JosemI!

The thing I noticed was that SWP was crossing the ball around Arbeloa (beckham style) rather than taking him on

has looked a very good buy so far and things can only really get better with time.
