Obviously Liverpool, or any third party, weren't involved in any of this officially. Whatever way round, there ultimately has to be a legal agreement between the player and the club to terminate his contract with the club. Presenting a letter as agreement to the conditions on which that later agreement would come about is an agreement to agree.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Originally posted by Operation View PostThat's complete bollocks mate. The fundamental issue that everyone ignores is that an 'agreement to agree' is not legally binding under UK law. No such agreement in whatever form (a letter/taped conversation in this case) is enforceable. This was a clear case of an agreement to agree. Case closed, end of, black and white.
I understand that mate, but the PL statement they issued was based upon interpretations of the Mancs business practises as a background for the letter. In particular they talked about transfers to rivals - that in itself ignored the transfer of Veron, for example.
As Rafa specifically said, the PL 'panel' of two chose to believe what Taggart and Gill had to say rather than the letter. There is no other explanation for Rafas statement about accepting the word of people who had made a mistake (in giving Heinze the letter).

Well! Does this verdict means Manchester United cannot sell any players to Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea for the next 100 years?
Perhaps they would like to insert this clause into their agreement template. I wonder if it infringes with HUMAN RIGHTS law.
Sincerely, I really wonder if these people on the panel understand LAW. If not, they are certainly not fit to sit on the panel. In addition, are they totally neutral? Have they benefited from dealings with Manchester United previously.
It is time to shake up the Premier League. These people are not fit to rule Premier League at this level.

I think we have to take this in context mate, after the ****e decision on Sun and now the Heinze decision probably mixed with a few other things he's just blowing off steam.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostThats quite an outburst from Rafa, its unlike him. Personally, I dont like excuses and by the sound of it he's trying to find some so if things go tits up he can say this and that. Houllier in his last 2 seasons was full of silly excuses, bad pitch this and bad weather that.
Rafa always dealt with things in a dignified manner but this time am not so sure. Just concentrate on winnin' matches and forget about Heinze man.
I think it's a one off I'm glad he's done it and now we get back onto the matters at hand, Rafa is not going to distract himself or his players with this type of stuff.

[QUOTE=Sir Bob;633694]I agree mate.
Lets face it we aren't going to lose the league title because we play 4 games early on a Saturday after an international match. i mean does a kick off 2 and a quarter hours early make any difference to us.
I don't think it's necessarily the early start on Saturday that's the particular problem, as Rafa sees it.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostI don't like these excuses either.
Especially, complaining about early kick-offs sounds lame imo. And the Tevez Masch business is also no biggie I think.
.
I think it's the fact that more than likely one of our main rivals on the same weekend will have the 4pm Sunday kick off.
Now, in anyone's book that does provide them with an advantage with recovery time.
I remember last season and even one before, the amount of early saturday kickoffs we had was unbeleeebablee (
) in comparison to others, and its this disparity with the way the early k.os are handed out thats annoying rafa.
Can anyone remember a weekend where we had a 4pm Sunday k.o, while for instance Utd had this graveyard 12.30pm Saturday K.o??
So I for one see rafa's point.
I suspect this kind of scheduling is more to do with the fact that as one of the top teams, sky will invariably want to show our game.
I see it as a sky issue, as they will often want to show as many top teams as possible over a given weekend, and I think they see Utd as a bigger draw hence the peak slot on the sunday for them, while we keep being punted to their ****ty early saturday slot. So we benefit in the fact that Sky deem most of our games worthy of broadcasting, and take our wedge etc for it, but we draw the short straw in terms of popularity from within Sky in comparison with Utd games (which we all know Sky just LURRVE, look at keyes, he near damn well wets himself when they're on)
So, in summary, I'm okay with Rafa having a whinge about the PL and what looks like a certain bias towards utd re: tevez and Heinze affairs.
But his moan about scheduling should have been directed squarely at Sky sports, and hopefully we would see them mix up their scheduling from the usual early ko for lfc games, prime time sunday slot for Utd.
PS: it's also only ever an issue after a midweek game (either europe or internationa games) but there should be more fairness between the 4 top teams who will obviously have the most internationals away.Last edited by certifiable; 23-08-07, 07:10 PM.

Spot on, and that is exactly the point he is making. After we signed him it took a month before they would give us his registration, but for Manure it only took a couple of days.Originally posted by AFII View PostIt took us over a month to get the papers and United got them after a day or two.The Crushing Machine MKII

Rafa made the point today that we typically play our midweek games on Weds and then on Sat on the weekend.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostRAFA"This season we have early kick-offs at places like Newcastle and Portsmouth – but then if we don't win people will wonder why our away form is not consistent.
Prepare your team as best as you can then you can win games. C'mon Rafa your better than that.
Others (manure etc) get to play Tues and Sunday. Thats two more days to prepare. That definitely stacks the deck against us.
Well done to Rafa for trying to create a level playing field. Admit it, no-one else is looking out for our interests. The Crushing Machine MKII

Our lawyers that helped Manure out with the very simliar Mascherano case must have done a sterling job then.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostSpot on, and that is exactly the point he is making. They make more sense than your comments. Liverpool were delayed from signing Mascherano for months, while Man U kick up a fuss about Tevez and it's all settled in weeks - a very considerably shorter period. Some so-called fans on here make me laughOriginally posted by carheex View PostHow embarrassing. This paranoia against LFC is getting ridiculous. I've got all the respect in the world for Rafa but this article makes us look like whingeing losers. And as for it being hard for us to get mascherano but easy for tevez to join Utd - absolute bobbins! Hopefully these comments will disappear un noticed.
