Apart from having more awareness, a better first touch, more skill... yeah i tend to agree.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostI have to say Babel does remind me a little bit of Cisse.

He has less experience than when Cisse joined us but today was a mixed effort, I didn't see all of the first half but in the second half he appeared to go missing. This was odd when you consider we had numerous breaks but it nearly always appeared to come down the right or go through the middle.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostI have to say Babel does remind me a little bit of Cisse.

I think they're quite similar to be honest.

****e first 30 minutes for Xabi but like i touched on before when he picked out Pennant in the build up to Momo's goal i thought he got better and better from there on. Was sharper in the tackle and found his passing range. Not vintage Alonso by any means and he still needs to perform better but i thought he had a better game today than last weekend against Chelsea.Originally posted by -V- View PostGood performance, excellent result.
BUT im becoming just slightly concerned about Xabi. Why is he suddenly so slow to react. Is passing is also wayward.

All racism aside
, I suppose the distinguishing factor for Babel will be if he is ready and able to learn. That was Cisse's problem. He was getting caught offside as many times in his last few games as he was in his first few.

The big distinguishing feature of Babels game compared with Cisse is that he looks to do things with the ball at his feet rather than push it past someone then run. He makes people commit to tackles and opens up spaces for others.
He needs to work on his awareness and link up with other players. His first touch does seem to desert him at times but I think AA is unfair when he says it is as bad as Cisse.
I agree with others comments about the deciding factor on whether he will be a success will be how well he learns from Rafa and others around him."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I haven't seen anything of the sort yet.

I don't see what the issue is in describing him as black???? I describe myself as white.Originally posted by Red Chilli View Post
It's not racist at all, just being real in description, after all if the roles were reversed and Babel described me as a slightly overweight, white, handsome guy I wouldn't complain.

I think Babel is just taking a bit of time to settle, everything about him though screams out that he is a striker and not a winger.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostReally ?

Once he beds in and he eventually gets game time up front I think he'll prove a steal.
