    Red faces...

    Ok I'll own up, I wasn't jumping for joy or setting up my own fan club when we signed The Crow...but he's been excellent so far and you can't argue with two goals in two starts. But there's a lot of people on here who will be eating humble pie and wiping egg off their face for a long time given some of the ludicrous knee jerk reactions when his signing was first announced...'he's ****e, why do we need him on a free when we've got £100m to spend, he even looks crap on youtube, why haven't we got Eto'o instead, I don't like his ponytail' etc.

    Is anyone man enough to own up and admit that, even so early in the season, he's proven them wrong?! IMO the guy looks like a more clinical and dangerous version of Kuyt, only he cost us precisely £10m less. His long range shooting and link play is excellent, and if he carries on like this he should easily chip in with 10-15 league goals. I don't give a monkeyface if he's got a pony, is unfashionably Ukranian and came on a free...which reminds me he already looks far better value than a certain countryman of his who cost over £30m...

    Hopefully some lessons have been learned - and certain people won't be so hysterically quick to judge a player who hasn't even pulled on the red jersey yet.

    Personally I never slagged him off, mocked him or wrote him off before I'd seen him play for us. New players always get a chance, but I did see him play three or four times last season in an uninspiring Leverkusen team and I couldn't see why we were bringing him in.

    I ****ing can now! It's still early days but he's been a minor revelation.

      Not a chance of that on this site mate

      apparantley benayoun is the biggest pile of ****e to ever walk on grass according to a hell of a lot of tossers on here

        Oh yes...remind me to start a thread for that once he's won us a few games with a moment of magic (assuming he starts making the team haha). I remember Rashid being particularly vocal about that...can't remember what he thought of Voronin though. Probably wanted him strung up and stoned to death

          I'm not owning up cos I never said he was **** or anything of the sort, if I was happy to give Pennant a season i'd be more than happy to give the ponytailed one a season as well
