At this moment, looking back on Keanes career and only seeing a small section of Maschs obviously Keane has a better career and can be judged as a "better" player. At the end of Maschs career we can truly judge. That said I am of the opinion that Keane was one of the finest midfield generals and truly inspirational leaders that I have had the privelage to see play. We are exceptionally lucky that we can boast a team with Gerrard, who will definitely surpass Keanes achievements, and Masch..who may well, as well as momo..who ****ing knows with momo, anyway, they are all great players. Despite Keane being a scum I always liked him and his commitment.
He cruised through the game tonight, you could clearly see that if he'd been alongside Xabi he would have been capable of upping his game and playing a more attacking role which was the job of Momo tonight.
On that note I think his Kuyt-like effort perhaps masks one very good area of his game - his passing. He's not like the Stevie / Xabi kind of passer who drills the ball, he does play a number of passes wide with a bit of spin and curl so they drop to the player rather than flying at them. It often makes it slightly easier for the player to then make a move or cross.

Spot on bigfooty
The way he eats up the ground is phenominal for a little guy, his positional sense, tackling and reading the game is top drawer and he always shows for the ball which gives options to his team mates.
His passing is a lot better than people give him credit for - not that they criticise him for it but you never hear people going on about it. He rarely squanders possession and sprayed the ball around beautifully last night, even if it was against a pub team
At a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly
I hope we sign Masher up early rather then letting the loan spell go to the last week and have a threat of another club coming in for him......
I would be devastated if we lost him, hes an outstanding player, one of the very best ive seen in a red shirt for many a year and one of the few top players about. that deserve to be talked about in the world class bracket.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long
