    Where to start?!

Firstly, we have four strikers who are all now off the mark for the season. This is so important. We can now perm any two from four (or, realistically for the most part, Torres + one from three) with confidence. It's not possible for any club to have four Fernando Torres-standard strikers, but I reckon our four are about as good as any pool of strikers in the country. A fantastic headache for Rafa to have.

We are oozing quality all over the park, on the bench and in the stands. We've got the greatest midfield in the world. 'Unfashionable' players such as Arbeloa and Pennant have started the season brilliantly, Ryan Babel has huge, explosive potential and the silky Benayoun finally got the chance tonight to show us what he can do. And I haven't even mentioned Brazilian Player of the Year Lucas Leiva.

CL football emphatically guaranteed, a great start in the league and now a sequence of games (Pompey away being the biggest test) that are extremely winnable. What a good time to be a Red.

I don't recall feeling so good about our squad for a long, long time. Off the field, we demonstrated tonight the club's, and more importantly, the city's class with our tribute to Rhys Jones, and it made me feel incredibly proud.

We've got a wonderful new stadium on the way, impressive new owners, the greatest manager in the world and loads and loads of ****ing good players.

    Absolutely buzzing.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

    Ah ****ing men brother.

I was texting a lad in Greece who couldn't watch the game the score and I said we just look different this season we look hungry and classy all over the pitch. No Gerrard or Carra yet it didn't matter we had Sami and Mascher to come in.

    It's all looking good.

Things look very rosy at the moment.

We are out of the blocks very quickly this year and playing some good stuff too.

This is going to be one exciting season.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

We look good this year. We've played some close games so far and got better than fair results. I thought tonight was a good example of Rafa's ability to manage a good squad with new players, in front of the home crowd.

                    Money shrewdly spent imo.

                      It's not you - he's been brilliant.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell us all it's early days....early days for Voronin, Benayoun et al - and it is - but it's hard not to be excited at the moment.

Saturday just can't come quick enough. Another 4-0 I fancy.
