The thing that really impressed me last night was a list of the players that didn't start the game:

Gerrard, Carragher, Torres, Alonso, Babel, Finnan, Pennant, Voronin, Aurelio, Kewell, Lucas... and probably a few I've missed.

Our squad is amazing - we played some superb stuff last night, against opposition that aren't the best, but are experienced in stopping the other team from playing.

I also thought that Benayoun and Mascherano were absolutely magnificent.

The future is bright, very bright and very RED.

I've got a feeling Pacman has "a bad feeling" about the Derby game

This Saturday is actually a very good test for our squad - we should give them a good hiding if the form book and ability of both sets of players are anything to go by. It will show another stage of progression.

I think the match against Derby will be abandoned at half time due to Derby throwing in the towel cos they cant face another half of 10 goals against them

I know where you're coming from. I'm certainly not making any snap judgements based on last night, as playing Toulouse is no kind of barometer at all.

But the way things have gone early into this season as a whole certainly gives cause for optimism. What I like above all is that everyone seems to pulling in the same direction this season, everyone, Rafa, players, board etc all seem to mean business. Look at the way they celebrated Gerrard's winner at Villa, the way players have come in, perhaps knowing they're not first choice but excelling nonetheless as if laying down the marker that they want to fight for their place in the team (eg Momo, Crouch, Sami etc), the way we're even talking a good game. People know this could be a big year for us if we all pull together.

                    It's looking good, very good.

                          We all were.

Looks like we'll finally get our hands on No.19 which will be sitting next to No.6 while the rest of the league are busy sitting on No.2s...

The highs & lows since then but right now I’ve never been happier to be a Liverpool fan. There’s been great times along the way but we've often relied on super stars carrying a smattering of dead wood. This team though is amazing, the gaffer is the best on the planet plus our owners continue to improve the commercial aspect & back Klopp. Heady days indeed.
