To be fair they never should both have dived across. The player coming from Babels right made a shocking decision. They were both blocking the same shot effectively. The delightful piece of skill was only one way in which he could have avoided the supposed block - he could either have aimed for the right hand side of the goal or just stayed still.

To be fair though a lot of lesser players would have just smacked it at goal and as previously Championship defenders I guess it is to be expected that they assumed that was what was going to happen.

also loads of people were jumping on speedy's back (when he first joined) I think the major difference that sets babel apart (from speedy) is he is strong and can hold off challenges, speedy looked like a strong gust would blow him over and lastly babel is much more head up wereas speedy had the blinkers on all the time.

babel is one for the future but can also do a job now.

Nah, the main difference is that Babel in about 3 games, has shown more quality than Speedy did during his entire stay.

You cant make any proper judgement at this stage, whether it's positive or negative. That's daft.

You can form an early impression, which thus far, has to be a positive one.

would be interesting to hear where rafa feels his long term future lies because an injury to torres and imho babel has to play through the middle because two slow strikers up front is gash.

I don't think anyone *likes* two slow strikers up front, but our record when Kuyt/Crouch play together is absolutely exceptional.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

So you DO agree with me that he's raw then ?!

I reckon his main position will turn out to be striker. I'm not sure if he'll get many chances this season, but it wouldn't surprise me if Rafa let him play there on a permanent basis next season - it was quite obvious from the PC when he joined that that is where he sees himself playing eventually but Rafa wants him to do a job on the wings this year.
