You mean Benfica that knocked us out?Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostYear in year out they get the easiest group, yet almost always contrive to **** it up. I remember when they came bottom in a group comprising Lille, Benfica and some other jokers.
Wouldn't it be marvellous to see them get a good team or two for once.
What teams make up the 2nd group of seeds?Oh I don't know.

Yeah. Bit different losing over two legs to someone and coming bottom of a group featuring that very team plus LILLE and some other ****e.Originally posted by dom9 View PostYou mean Benfica that knocked us out?
Oh yeah. Er...Originally posted by Ritchi3 View PostBut they'll be in different seed pots? Would be impossible to work.
It would also complicate the 'no two clubs from the same country' rule.
**** knows. The draw is tomorrow though.Last edited by Shaggy; 29-08-07, 01:58 PM.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

its being assumed by most that Seville-AOK will be in pot 2, as eufa see it as highly unlikely that AOK will progress. and even if they did, its not that big a deal them being in pot 2.Originally posted by Ritchi3 View PostBut they'll be in different seed pots? Would be impossible to work.

UEFA Champions League draw to go ahead
UEFA will hold tomorrow's draw for the group stage of the Champions League with one of the qualifying matches still to be played.
Sevilla's second leg against AEK Athens was postponed following the sudden death of the Spanish club's 22-year-old midfielder Antonio Puerta at the weekend.
UEFA are to decide today how to accommodate both clubs in the draw despite the fact their coefficients mean that, under normal circumstances, the clubs would be in different seeding pots.
Sevilla hold a 2-0 lead from the first leg and with a coefficient of 87.37 would be among the second seeds, while the Greek side's coefficient of 36.41 would place them in the bottom group of seeds.
It is likely that UEFA will decide that in the unlikely circumstances that AEK overturn Sevilla's first-leg advantage they would assume the Spanish club's position among the second seeds.
Sevilla, the UEFA Cup winners, are expected to confirm that they will play in the Super Cup match against Champions League winners AC Milan in Monaco on Friday night.
UEFA general secretary David Taylor said: 'The draw will take place tomorrow at 1800CET - as scheduled.
'There are additional complications this season related to the tragic and unforeseen circumstances that caused the postponement of the AEK Athens v Sevilla match.
'This means that both clubs will be `provisionally' entered in this season's competition.'
