It would give Rafa the option to rotate the team in an even better way. He could rest Gerrard or Carra for example and concentrate more on the league.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I wonder if the teams with a lower coefficient will get the place in the draw of teams with higher coefficient that they eliminated. It looks that way for me. It would mean that we could get Slavia Prague from pot 2 which would be perfect draw.

The seedings for the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League group stage have been announced with the draw to be made at 18.00 CET today at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

          Monaco setting
Wednesday's 12 victorious sides from the third qualifying round and Tuesday's three winners take their place alongside the 16 automatic entrants in the draw for the eight UEFA Champions League groups at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco. Making their debut at this stage are SK Slavia Praha, having knocked out AFC Ajax on Wednesday evening. Also in the draw are Sevilla FC and AEK Athens FC, who play the second leg of their tie next Monday after a postponement due to the death of Antonio Puerta on Tuesday.

          Fixture schedule
The UEFA Champions League group stage will be played on 18/19 September, 2/3 October, 23/24 October, 6/7 November, 27/28 November and 4 or 11/12 December. The winners and runners-up from each pool will progress to the first knockout round in the spring, with the final set for Moscow on 21 May. Teams finishing third in each section will have the consolation of going into the UEFA Cup Round of 32.

          Pairings
Where two clubs from the same association have qualified, they are paired to split their matches between Tuesday and Wednesday. In the case of associations with three representatives, only two sides have been paired in terms of their fixtures; in the case of associations with four representatives, two pairings are made. Sevilla and AEK have been pair with two different teams to provide for the eventuality of either side winning.

why not just **** pots 3 and 4 off and just go straight into the last 16 with teams from pots 1 and 2, asside from the money issues it'd save a lot of pointless football matches

Remember Olympiakos? What a night. We'd have missed out on that if the **** teams weren't allowed in.

Because it wont be worth it for teams in pots 3&4 to participate in qualifying rounds and then get kicked out, makes no sense.
I think this format is the best one since the introduction of the CL in 1992/1993.
Oh and there is the matter of millions of Euros being dished out by the sponsors and TV. Without that there will be no extra revenue for clubs.

It's pretty even for the top 6.
Can't see how they scored their points 02/03, 31.1150 when they were 6th in the league and 1/4 finals in CL. 04/05 we won CL and were 5th in the premiership and got 30.1385

The coefficients are based on all European results (with a very small factor for country coefficient) In 2005 we didn't win as many games as AC Milan despite the fact we beat them in the final. Hence they scored more points.

I want to see these groups:

                            Liverpool
Benfica - we owe them one and will beat them
Stuttgart - not far from me, and bugger all CL experience,
Slavia Prague - ****e team, 4 hours away from me, Vladi plays for them - perfect

                            Manchester United
                            Sevilla
                            Schalke
                            Shakhtar Donetsk

Just when I discovered the meaning of life, they changed it

Probably because they "won" the Inter Toto Cup last year
