    Lucas Neill Buy Out Clause?

It's a bit of a conspiracy theory but let's say he activated his clause, regards buying out the remainder of his one year contract, then if & when he does, does that then make him out of contract & available to buy outside of the transfer window, just like any other out of contract player? Just a thought, might be boll*cks but is it feasible?

its plausible...surely we need him now that Kromkamp has gone.

There has to be something that happened last night, I really don't see how we can be in a situation where Finnan is our only right back.

Either Rafa will play Agger/Paletta there, or we have got someone in.

can`t see rafa wanting neill that much for him to buy out the remainder of his contract he would have to be on some wages then and i had read that he doesn`t want to upset the blackburn fans by doing this anyway.anyone know of any out of contract right backs knocking around

It'll be Alves in January IMO. *praying*

did Alves play in the super cup final last week? If so does that make him cup tied for the rest of the CL/UEFA season?

Yeah he did, man of the match. No idea if that cup-ties him, although even if he was I'd like to think we'll try for him in January.

Agger is left footed and Paletta was very poor when played there pre season

IF (and its a big if given his excellent past record with injuries) finnan were to get injured, then carra will play right back. allowing agger or paletta to play centre half. He certainly wouldnt play a left footed centre half at right back, and after having a look at paletta at full back in pre season, I doubt he would use him there again so early in his career as he isnt ready to swap positions yet. carra is tried and trusted, and the other 2 lads are MORE than adequate to fill in at centre half. Indeed, before long, they will be pushing for a place there on their own merits. Indeed agger has already started his fight

I agree that it's a likely solution if Finnan gets injured, but it ain't ideal is it? Rafa likes his full backs to bomb forward and get crosses in, and Carra won't do that at all. He'd barely get over the half way line.

If Finnan gets injured it'll be a big problem for us IMO.

Frankly I'd prefer to wait and gamble on Alves rather than go anywhere near Lucas Neill

Yes, he did play. No he's not Cup Tied. The Super Cup doesnt Tie a Player.

Even if he plays for Alves in UEFA Cup, he still wont be tied for CL in January. Teams from CL can register 1 player from UEFA Cup Team in January.

agreed, like you i wish alves was here. But if finnan WAS to get injured, id much rather carra be there rather than krapkamp, and CERTAINLY rather than Lucas ****ing Neill.
O.k. carra aint gonna get forward like finnan or alves, BUT i bet a pound to a penny that its easier to get past alves than it is carra, so for now. were ok i reckon
