      Exactly.

the Kop used to be standing. Now its not. There isnt any debate surrounding it. I watched people get thrown out and have no sympathy for them. What gives them the right to break the rules? Because its the Kop? Yeah ok, the rest of football have to sit but the Kop can stand. Bollocks. If the law changes, then stand. If it doesnt then you sit. Its not hard to understand. Carry on standing and the Kop gets closed.

Mate, I'm 5'10" and a bit over weight and I have to say the seats and space in front of the seat are too small. Rags my knee's and crushed on both sides.

We're 'allowed' to stand at some aways but not others. We're allowed to stand on European nights, but not others, It's 'safe' to stand up when we've scored a goal, for a corner, or at half time, but not during play.

It's all bollocks. Safe standing areas are the only way forward.

We've been here before. This works on the continent because people are more behaved. You see the trouble caused when you ask someone to sit down. Can you imagine the trouble when trying to get people to stand in the right place? And you know everyone will gang in them rows to be with their mates. All squashing up. Thats when trouble starts.

How do you feel about a load of our fans pushing for standing area's, always made me a bit uneasy.

Sounds like these lads have the same '**** you' attitude that was so prevalent in Athens?
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
                It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
                Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

It is an accident waiting to happen. It works still at lower league clubs because they dont get the crowds. People nowadays wont do as they are told. You try telling pissed scousers what to do. You get abuse back, then after they have done what they wanted to, after ignoring you, they blame you if it goes wrong.

                    Agreed.

My lads (11 and 8) sit through the whole game, singing, shouting and applauding.

The only time they stand is when singing YNWA, or when they have to in order to be able to see the game (corners, shots or when the gob****e in front won't sit down).

At the Manure game, when JAR scored 'that' goal, my lad got his leg trapped in the seat because he had to stand on it to see for most of the game and slipped.

Don't get me wrong, I quite like standing and would do if given the opportunity, but in the end of the day, it's all seater and persistent standing causes issues when the stadiums are specifically designed for seating.

Yes - I'd love a proper standing area like I've seen in some German stadia, but as it stands (lol), we shouldn't stand throughout the whole game.

                    IMO

Thats football 'fans' nowadays. 99% are sound but it does only take 1% to **** everything up. It only takes one person to fall/slip to start something terrible. Even in the pic AA keeps putting up as the future. It wont be one seat one person, everyone will crowd with their mates. So when one of them falls, the rest go as well in the sway.

That's my thought, I also get uneasy becasue of our history when our fans are the ones pushing for standing. I hope that all seater stadia are here to stay but more work is done to bring the atmosphere back.

Would imagine that clubs will be reuctant for standing to come back due to liability reasons, you are right people will dick about and then blame you when they have an accident - that's the way society is going.
