Dream job like you say. I've been applying for a few different things but I'll definately go for this one. The experience will be a problem, seeing as I'm only 21 and straight out of uni, but there's no harm in applying. I'd been planning to e-mail John Thompson anyway and see if there was any jobs going seeing as he liked me when I was on work experience at the Echo. The vibes he was giving me seemed to suggest I could get something there, even if it was only a couple of days a week to begin with, which is a foot in the door and all that.

What's the average wage in the North West? That seems quite low regardless. I hope they're not trying it on and trying to exploit the applicants' love of football/the club.

No idea, not sure what the 'average' is for a journo in the North West, however at that rate, surely they'd be looking at a new grad as opposed to someone with a wealth of experience?

Best of luck mate, use John Thompson as much as you can to give yourself a chance, got to make the most out of any contacts you have to improve your chance of getting that type of job.
