Liverpool are reported to be lining up a move for Italian Pasquale Foggia.

Reports emanating from Italy suggest Liverpool are keeping tabs on the exciting midfielder and could make a move for him when the transfer window reopens in January.

Foggia is currently on-loan at Cagliari from Lazio, but the player has signalled his intention not to return to the capital at the end of his loan stint.

The 24-year-old has been earning rave reviews in Serie A and he recently earned his first call-up to the Italian national team.

Liverpool scouts are believed to have watched Foggia in the first two weeks of the Italian season as they keep continued tabs on his progress.

A number of clubs are also thought to be watching Foggia, but Liverpool are believed to be at the head of the queue for the playmaker.

        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Cagliari have slammed reports of Liverpool’s negotiations for Pasquale Foggia as “devastating” speculation.

Foggia has quickly become a fan favourite after joining the club this summer, as he has already scored three goals in two games.

The 24-year-old also did enough to earn his first call-up to the senior Italy squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against France and Ukraine, even if he has not yet been given a cap.

‘The News of the World’ stirred up rumours that Liverpool were in advanced talks to take Foggia off the Sardinians for £12m, but Cagliari reacted with a harshly worded statement.

“This is pure speculation from some English tabloids that could have devastating effects on our healthy environment based on modesty and sacrifice,” said the note on their official website.

“Foggia is beginning his journey as a football player and has to continue on the path he has already undertaken.

“The call-up to the Italy squad is an honour for our club and has to represent extra motivation for him. Rumours of this type only distract a player from his objectives.

“Already in the past we have seen other Cagliari players, once they had earned their spot on the national and international scene, proved unable to perform to their potential. We don’t want this to happen to Foggia, who has shown in these first few games of the season all of his qualities.”

The reference could well be aimed at Antonio Langella and Mauro Esposito, who helped the club to promotion into Serie A and became regulars in the Azzurri set-up, but failed negotiations with big sides saw them slide in form until they were left in the Stadio Sant’Elia stands.

Cagliari parted with both players this summer, selling Langella to Atalanta and Esposito to Roma.

It has been a troubled few years for former Under-21 international Foggia, who was sold to Lazio as part of Milan’s deal for Massimo Oddo in January.

However, he made just 11 appearances for the side and was loaned out to Reggina before the temporary switch to Cagliari this summer.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

maybe it's one of those 50 - 50 co ownership things Italian teams love doing but we just think it's a loan.
