Against teams like that you need intelligent passers. Alonso and Benayoun are our players to unlock teams that play with 10 men.

Birmingham did what they had to do. They closed down the middle of the park and let our crap so called wingers have a go. It worked excellent for them.

Excellent game by them and a crap game by us.

We need wingers.

Fair play to Brum. Cant blame them for sticking to a game plan. A point at Anfield is great for these sorts of teams.

What Rafa needs to realise is that every game in the League IS a cup game.

Posted this in the match thread but anyway:

I'm less concerned about the result and more concerned with our naivety and soft mentality. We're too nice a team, we need to go for the throat and have no mercy. It's not about rotation or the quality of our players, it's the way we approach these types of games, when the opposition is happy to sit back and defend and the few first shots at goal don't go in. The pressure is mounting and if it's still 0-0 at the 60th minute, we never look like winning.

Breaking that mental barrier is the mark of champions and I haven't seen that today. It's early in the season, but you know we're going to look back at this game and ask what could have been.

Rafa needs to find our vicious streak.

We don't play passing football persistently enough. We lack patience and lump it long ... It's either a lack of quality or lack of movement / stamina at the moment.
