Bit early in the season to write us off. Just looked at the table and we're 2nd. Arsenal are ahead by 4 points but they haven't got depth in their squad like we have. Chill out everyone for fcuks sake.

We were dissapointing today and to be fair we looked like we wouldn't have scored had we still been playing now. Perhaps a run of results like we've had will give us a good kick up the backside and we can push on.

We missed Alonso and we missed Dan Aggers distribution from the back because all to often Sami just hoofs it.

When was the last time we beat Birmingham at home in the league?

Brutal performance today and Torres made us look much better when he came on. I want to comment on the players today. Mascherano, Carra, Arbeloa, Reina were good and that's about it. John Arne Riise has been terrible for us for a while and was again today. He has absolutely no ability to take a man on, his first touch is poor and he has lost the only asset he had - his shooting. A couple of woeful attempts today. Sami Hyppia did ok but his pace is seriously putting us in trouble. Instead of carrying it out of defence like Agger, he will hit long hopeful balls. He's been a great servant but we need new blood in defence. Hobbs/Antwi on Tuesday. Dirk Kuyt - Is this his season? Is valuable in games like Porto when you need someone to track back and defend but he is not good enough as an attacking force. His touch and passing were very poor today. He's not a striker. Sadly for us Voronin was static today so we had two ineffective strikers. Pennant should have been dropped today, but having got a chance to redeem himself it was the same old story. Lots of trickery - zero end product. A few hopefully flighted balls into the box and thats Jermaines lot. He is just not good enough. Gerrard is still a much bigger threat on the right. Speaking of Steve, not his best game today. He tried hard but as captain he should have been berating those players. Played within himself. I thought Babel played ok but it's obvious he's not a winger as Rafa believes. How about himself and Torres up front? And what has Bennyoun done? Surely he's not being rested???? One more thing - I'm wondering if we are starting to see the effect of Pako not being on the bench any more. The performances have certainly taken a turn for the worse.

Couldn't really argue with that - except for Carra. He didn't have much defending to do but his use of the ball was again abysmal.

I thought Benayoun was bought for these sort of games - against packed defences at home - so where was he?

Gerrard again failed to do the business in the centre.

Kuyt was atrocious. Two touches every time he got the ball - first touch and a sliding tackle. It bounced off him all afternoon.

Voronin barely had a kick first half. We were totally impotent up front. Torres has got to play virtually every league game - why he was left out again today I'll never know. I don't criticise Rafa very often but he dropped a bollock there.

I daren't type anything about Riise in case I go overboard.

Another stinker from Babel. I thought he looked lively for the first 20 minutes, but he vanished after that. Again, Pennant started brightly but faded badly.

A poor, poor performance and that's three in a row now. The only positive is that we've come out of those three games still unbeaten, and still to concede a goal from open play in all competitions. Considering it's almost October, that is some feat.

Torres from the start is a must in the league.
                    I agree with that.
You have to look to the manager when you want to see what is wrong with a team, it is obvious that it is squad rotation that is costing us our form.
Now i have no problem with rotating, but Rafa takes it to the extreme, especially so early on in the season, we need some cohesion, then as the season progresses, we can mix it up more as the squad adapts.
FRafa has to concede this point.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

As disappointing as todays game was, we are a better team than last year and should end up higher than last years at the end of the season.

As an attacking unit we've looked very poor these last three games.

Pennant has not created a goal in the last 5 months. He's scored one in nearly 40 league appearances. Those are horrendous figures for a guy some Liverpool fans seem to think is the best in his position in the country.

Babel is not a wide player. Nor is Yossi. Today we resorted to playing Kuyt and Voronin on the wings because we had simply ran out of options and are unwilling to take a chance on youth.

Rafa has had over 120M since he joined the club yet with the departure of King Luis, a footnote of a transfer in the Summer spending spree, we do not have a single midfield player that we can point to and say "yes, he will win us this match". Apart from Gerrard of course, who was here before Rafa and will probably still be here after he has gone. And even he can't do it every single game.

This last three games have been an absolute BULL****E!!! It's painful to watch such crap performances! It really is ... We're complicating to much. Everytime we had the ball inside Brum's penalty area, we started passing around as if our lives depended on it - SHOOT FFS!!!

And don't get me started on our corner-kicks. They're absolutely pointless! If Scum or Chelsea got as many corner-kicks as we have today, they would score at least 3 times. We? No delivery whatsoever!

I thought we could win this match without Torres or/and Gerrard on the pitch ... Well, it turns out we aren't good enough and I agree with fredo on this one. Stop rotating Rafa, as you can clearly see we're playing ****e! Put your best 11 on the pitch and there's nothing more you can do - the rest of it is in god's hands.

Carra is just hoofing balls needlessly at times and it is so frustrating.
Riise lacked urgency and his shots are just a joke.
Atrocious was the word for Kuyt.

We have a mix of world class talent and mid table talent in our squad.
I have been saying this about Pennant for ages.

Torres was very pissed off today. He was sitting on the bench and you could see his frustrations and anger. Quite rightly so if I may add I'm getting more frustrated with Rafa each week.
