I'm not sure we'll win the league this year. If we do, great. If we don't it'll be because there's been a team that's done better than us over 38 matches and not because of Rafa.

I said we can win it and i still say we can.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostCan i just point out for the record, someone on this thread all summer said we're not good enough to win the league.
Folowing the Derby match he started a thread sayign how e was wrong and Rafa can do it etc etc.
Now he's suggesting Rafa is going to cost us the league and that we should consider sacking Rafa.
I'll give you a clue, his username consists of 3 consonants
But if Rafa keeps taking things for granted and dropping players who'll win us games, then no we wont. Quite simple really....well, for some of us...

You need coaching badges to realise that Torres is our best striker...and that to have the best chance of winning, you need the best possible players?Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostBased on his opinion and not yours.
Got your FA coaching badges then Syd??

It's a pity to think we were 1st a week ago, and now we could find ourselves 6th tomorrow, our game in hand is useful but if west ham and everton win and there's a winner in chavs v mancs, assuming we won it (the game in hand), it would still only take us back to third. But that's a lot of if's and i suppose at this stage of the season it doesn't really mean anything.Thomas Hicks Senior

Never look at the league table until chrimbo is out of the way.Originally posted by Morphorino View PostIt's a pity to think we were 1st a week ago, and now we could find ourselves 6th tomorrow, our game in hand is useful but if west ham and everton win and there's a winner in chavs v mancs, assuming we won it (the game in hand), it would still only take us back to third. Look, we've only played six games so far, it's way too early to judge something like this.
We've been poor in the last two games, that's for sure, and leaving out Torres hasn't helped but there's still a hell of a long way to go.
If we keep dropping points and are out of the title race early again then that's the time to start asking questions.
As it stands we need to give Rafa more time before making such dramatic pronouncements.A humble guy with healthy desire.

can't help it though, if we didn't have an allergic reaction to being first, it's be nice to look at the table and take confidence from being first, but we all know if we win the league we won't do it by sitting at the top the whole way, we'll sneak it on the last day of the season or something along those linesOriginally posted by kurtangle01 View PostNever look at the league table until chrimo is out of the way.

he's doing the same as he's done every other year - rotating.
Every other year it's had one major effect - we've been very strong at the end of the season as players are usually fit and everyone has had enough games to be able to contribute.
Obviously if things keep going wrong he'll do what he did last season and start picking the best players for most games, but the wholes point of having, as an example Stevie, Xabi,Momo and Mascherano, is that they ALL contribute during the season. The same should be true of the forwards and the defenders [less so the defenders]. All things being equal he'll continue to rotate and I, for one, will support him. If we're in contention come March we'll be in a VERY good position to challenge during the run-in.'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'
