    Prawn Sandwiches

Well , it's happened . I thought I was imagining it during the Derby game (until we started scoring) , but it was the same against Brum . The people that go to Anfield are more interested in having their prawn sandwiches than singing on the team. And I don't want to hear about "The team weren't playing well enough to sing for" or any other rubbish excuse like that . The people that are lucky enough to get tickets to go to Anfield should be singing and shouting for 90 minutes or else give the ticket to someone that will . No wonder the team looks down . I am bloody furious . All you could hear were the away supporters . Have a look at yourselves people and pull the finger out!

i took an afternoon off work to see the game and sacraficed coming in at half seven this morning ................ had to ask the barman to urn up the tv as i thought it was me, atmosphere did seem a bit damp alright

we should have had a bit of this
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Atmosphere was embarassing, completely non-existent. Admittedly if we'd scored it would have been different, but that's no excuse in my book.

agreed, i was over at the chelsea game and they started singing "where's your famous atmosphere" to which 40'000 suppoerters lifted the roof with YNWA

atmosphere was electric at that one and guess what an early goal !!!!!!!

we as supporters seem to take for granted teams like brum and look what happens. get behind the boys early doors get the early goal. confidence is high and we play some football.

knock on effect, more goals, more songs, more shouting !!!

        swings and roundabouts

The atmosphere was not as good as it can be but it's certainly been muich worse.

Not every match is going to be like a Champions league game unfortunately.

Also the atmosphere will never come across as well on tv.

I was expecting more from the Birmingham fans, they were ****e.

              No they were not.

Are you watching on tv? Maybe the sound made there fans sound louder but I assure they were not.

The Kop has always been quieter when playing games like Birmingham. Even when the Kop was standing.

Where I was in the Centenary yesterday, I could hear their fans a lot more than I could hear the Kop, and I was in the corner by the Kop and they were obviously on the other side of the ground.

They celebrated at the end like they had won the game.

i agree on the kop being quiet for games against the likes of birmingham.....but why are they??? We should be singing every game regardless of who is the opposition...just look at European nights when the kop scares the **** outta team...why don't we do that on all other games?

Why can't every game be like a European night? We are trying to win the fooking league, or are the fans just interested in putting on a show for international tv? It needs to be better.

I was in the Kop and I didn't notice them singing until towards the end.

I do agree with you both. The atmosphere is not good enough against smaller teams.

yeah but what i can't figure out is why is the atmosphere so **** against smaller teams.....it obviously effects the players...when its quiet they play ****...when we are all singing and shouting they seem to play a lot better and put more effort in.

Its not a prawn sandwich brigade imo, its alot of fans just waiting and in fairness we where very poor yesterday, the likes of Torres excites the fans with his movement up front and we didn't have anything like that. Its hard to get up for it when the team are gash.

This is correct, we keep harking back to mythical times that simply didn't exist, we all just remember the big games with big atmospheres, not the 1- 0 against t Brighton and the like. The Kop is quieter now for 2 reasons, less people and it's seated.

Is anyone else getting a bit sick of the speed of ALL the songs being slowed right down, PST sounded like a fcuking dirge today. I'd rather people just sang than give up because someone has decided that Campione has to be sung slowly.
