Torres is not our only player. He won't be available every game. If we can't beat Birmingham without him then our biggest problem is not rotation, whatever people think of it, it's that we have a squad lacking in certain areas and/or a lack of an overall attacking pattern to the team etc. Or maybe it's just an off day. Either way like you're saying, going on about rotation just disguises the real issues.Like blood on iron

We do have 4 strikers, but our game needs to be different when we change them, he should in hindsight have played PC with Kuyt yesterday it worked fine at home last year and they have played together loads, Voronin looked clueless yesterday. It was a bad day but we may regret those points dropped.08-09 Dirk monitor
5 goals (target 15)
3 assists also........

IMO we don`t have a single ****e player. They`re not all world class, but every one of them would start for most PL sides.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostWe have a few ****e players and a few world class players.

Ok ****e was strong but Pennant,Yossi,Crouch,Voronin and Kewell are players who are not good enough for us if we are going to move forward.Originally posted by carlton View Postname names, who are ****e?
Riise at times drives me mad. What was with passing back all the time yesterday and his shots are a joke.
Rafa has bought the best midfield in the world but the same cant be said for our wingers and strikeforce can it?Oh the man is a midfield maestro

I believe squad rotation doesn't exist at Liverpool - I feel the so called rotation is actually a way of trying to keep everyone happy by trying to give everyone a good portion of appearences. Its obviously hindering us and this factor will stop us from winning the league this year even though we have the 1st/ 2nd best squad in England.
How many times did we rotate and keep players nice and fresh in the 80's?My kebab comes with chilli sauce

it's a different age now, plenty of players from the 80's have come out and said they couldn't do what players today do twice a week. Fitness has stepped up in the last 20 odd years, there are maybe more games depending on the comps you are in, and players need to be more like athletes these days.Originally posted by saj View Post

There are only a few players in the squad now that aren't good enough for us. Most of the ones you mentioned are not on the list.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostOk ****e was strong but Pennant,Yossi,Crouch,Voronin and Kewell are players who are not good enough for us if we are going to move forward.

Agreed some should not be starters but they are useful squaddies.
For me, Aurelio is on the top of the "should get rid of" list. Kewell is good enough but is too injury prone so we should sell and get something for him.
Crouch is/should be massively important for us. Himself and torres would be a magnificent partnership IMO.Last edited by Nic83; 23-09-07, 02:59 PM.

If you don't play a player week in week out then he will lose match fitness.
You need to play games to keep match fit so sorry Kaip, I don't agree with you at all.
Play the best players and they will give you a better performance because they will be match fit to do it.
Rest a player and he will need time to get match fit. Maybe not a whole game but he will need a part of the game to get up to speed again.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Agree with you AF. Absolutely no sense in changing your team. We'd beaten Sunderland and Derby convincingly and played well against Chelsea. Torres was scoring. When a striker is scoring you've got to keep playing (nevermind the fact we paid £22m for him).
Rafa tries to prove a point on rotation being right. We should have beaten Portsmouth and needed to win yesterday
People can gloss over it all they like. He's spent sh*t loads this summer. Just can't understand his logic. He's still more concerned about winning the Champions League
Kuyt was left out the Portsmouth game. He didn't play any internationals yet Rafa decides that he's needed for Porto.
Rafa is behaving ridiculously. It mirrors the stubborness displayed by Ged towards the end of his tenure.
Depressing result yesterday
