What in heavens are you talking about? This has nothing to do with recent results. Those results have already been forgotton about by me. In fact, a draw at pompey and a draw in porto are decent results in my book. The Bham game was just a blip and I think we will win the league.

Where would you play him? Too suspect defensively for me and I'd have 3 ahead of him for left wing.

He is a good crosser alright but I don't really rate him for much else. I agree with someone earlier, Paletta was the last REALLY sub LFC standard player to go.

This is the poster who whined his way through 90 minutes on Saturday.

In fact it is a thread complementing Rafa on the squad he has produced and why there is no reason we shouldn't win the league!

I agree with Reina, I think we now have the BEST squad and players in the prem. There are only 2/3 players that I don't think belong and that is a lot less than UTD have!

Funny the way this initial post was taken by some as a negative post. Just goes to show the attitude in here!

I apologise if I misconstrued your intentions, but you have effectively given people carte blanche to slag off their favourite targets. A week ago I was worried we had too much quality - ie there would be unrest because too many excellent players were not getting a look in. I think our squad is close to optimal, and I love the fact that we have an increasingly promising youth set-up. I am very disappointed with the last week's events, but its a blip.
I have always seen "supporting" a team as getting behind them, thick and thin, not criticising current players (Diouf an exception). When success comes you can feel you've been part of it. The attitude of a few on the match thread on Saturday, and of many in the Kop when I was last a regular, seems to be one of studied negativity - they wallow in poor performances and slip very readily into whinge mode when they should be getting behind the team. Rant over, sorry again, but you see how many have used your thread.

I think Rafa has gotten rid of most of the dead wood now and one of his best attributes IMO is the way he gets rid quicksmart if he feels they won't cut it even if they have only been here 6 months, but there are still a few stragglers that should be shipped out.

So, who doesn't belong at the club?
We have no players of that kind. The problem is not that we have dross who shouldn't be near a Liverpool team, it's that we don't have enough players of a quality that you feel like you would be really devastated if they left.

Better way to look at it but ..
Reina, Agger, Carragher, Gerrard, Mascherano, Torres

                    and very upset..
Alonso, Sissoko, Arbeloa, Finnan, Pennant, Kuyt

The only ones out of those I'd be devastated if they left are Carra, Gerrard, maybe Torres and Pepe.

The others leaving, I'd be gutted as I was when Luis left, but it wouldn't give me anything approaching the same sick feeling. Notable that most of the players you mention are defensive minded. We're definitely lacking. Going by your list the scum fans would say Giggs, Scholes, Ronaldo, Rooney, Saha, Tevez, possibly even Nani and Anderson - before they even got down to the defensive minded players.

Fair point, though I'd have thought Giggs and Scholes are too close to "sell-by-date" to be thought of as indispensable and Nani and Anderson are too unproven. Manchester have also won the league many times recently and can be more attacking. I think you build a contending team from the back. Rafa's done that - then you add a little panache. United have a lot of panache now and less solid foundations.

No worries buddy, you have a point. I'm agreed that there is far too much negativity on the forums in general.

I think almost everything at LFC these days is great, from the squad we now have to the new hierarchy to the fans.

The only thing that is wrong is easily fixable and that is Rafa occasionally leaving out our biggest players for the prem games. The thing is that if we leave them out in the CL and come away with a draw instead of a win, that is recoverable, unfortunately in the prem it's not but Rafa is a sensible man and it won't be long before it stops. We have already seen a big change this season bar the Torres being left out in the last couple.

                          All's good for me.

                          Oh and "Except Diouf"

we should get rid of the whole squad, tap up avram grant and lawrie sanchez to be joint manager (if it worked with evans and houllier why not again?), then with their international record they can sign the best players from the footballing giants that are Israel and Northern Ireland.

Alternatively I think most of our players are "Liverpool Standard", except Kewell has to prove it most of all, because he'll either give us another option on the left or should be got rid of in January.

What was the point of that?
