So I've decided to take a break from all things football (watching, following scores on Sky on a Saturday). Hopefully that should result in a more positive outlook

I hope Rafa reads these boards and realises his mistakes also

if you recover and then reappear when we're back on top of the league you'll really get some stick

and IF rafa reads these boards he probably pisses himself

Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

Don't slate the guy for wanting to take a break FFS!!! I understand how depressing it can get, I survived the Houllier years....just Take a break my friend and come back in a few weeks/months. It may have finally sunk in with Rafa by then that to win the EPL you need to keep your best 'core' players playing week in week week out and chuck the rest on for the Worthless Cup games.

4th mate, but none the less we have a game in hand over both manc sides which could take us second

I respect Sarb's wishes and he can do as he pleases, but taking a break? From football? How?

Not possible I'm afraid. Not in my world anyway. Why would anyone want to 'take a break' from supporting his team?

And why now? Unbeaten, no goals conceded from open play, in touching distance of the league leaders.......it's not like the back-end of the Houllier reign, is it?!

                  Strange.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                      Indeed.

It was the worst in recent times, honestly thought the club was going to the mattresses.

If anything we should be really enjoying supporting the club now. We're firmly back in the mix for the top prizes again. Yes we still have a way to go, but it's light years ahead of anything we've experienced since Kenny was in charge.

Expectations have been risen to a level which we used to have in the 70's and 80's, and quite right too. We're calling for second rate players to be axed and for Rafa to buck up his ideas. This good, this is healthy.

Took the words out of my ......keyboard Shaggy

Fair play to Sarb, nowt against him, but football is part of who I am. If there were no transfer market I think I'd just hibernate from May to August
I can't imagine taking a break from football, it's on my mind pretty much all day every day, along with other things.

I think it is quite obvious that Sarb's initial post was more about a seeking of attention than it was a genuine action he was going to go through.

This is highlighted by the following factors:

                            a) He mentions he was 'not going to start a thread slating Rafa and his rotation' - Why bring it up then? It seems clearly to have been on his mind, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered

                            b) the subsequent use of 'However' clearly implies that he thinks otherwise

                            c) 'due to our own doing and not the opposition being great' is a clear opinion of his wanting a response

                            d) He furthermore predicts that we have a team capable of challenging (which is ample) but then refutes that by saying 'We aren't' which is another indication he is wanting a response/debate and is not merely stating his actions (ie. 'I'm leaving, we're ****, in a bit')

                            e) He uses the word 'messing around' implying that the players don't give a **** and treat it just another laisser-faire thing the players do in their spare time, which it isn't, they just didn't turn up and perform

                            and the ultimate BOMBSHELL

                            f) He mentions 'I hope Rafa reads these boards' is by far the clearest indication of his seeking attention more than anything else, because obviously he wouldn't, it's just sad ****s like ourselves that do; and mentioning 'I hope he realises his mistakes' just rounds off the cry for attention nicely, it's also a sly dig at the manager which is ample, but there is no need for threatening to 'stop supporting us' by coming out with such a toys-chucked-pram statement. It makes him look foolish at best.

You're getting no special treatment Sarb lad, if you don't like it, you wouldn't have felt a need to tell someone. The fact that you did only highlights your wanting to debate by exaggerating your depression and life's demise by our oh-so-disastrous results and needing fellow redmen to give you a cuddle and a creep up the arse, which, given how we all know what this board is like, wouldn't happen.

I think the main reason you wrote this post was to get people to say things like 'Oh don't go, we'll be fine' and you then wanting to go off on another toys-pram rant justifying your depressive mood (which I doubt is the way it's portrayed); it all backfired however.

So there's my psychoanalysis of this whole situation.
