That doesn't mean he won't.

People are always looking to pick apart peoples words on here when normally people are just seeing the world from their point of view. Reading won't get exposed like that often largely because very few players have Torres pace and acceleration. That doesn't mean that Torres didn't have to be strong or intelligent to use it from our perspective.
Well said. In the build up to the match, I was surprised at how much praise and respect he was giving to liverpool. Didn't realise he was an lfc fan but it shows.

So take that statement to the letter, if Torres is a "kick and run" player that would put him in the same bracket as Cisse?

Beardo was the best at 1 on 1's. He just used to nutmeg the keeper every time

Coppell went out of his way at the end to pat Torres on the back.

As for kick and run - isn't that the whole essence of the game the slide pass, the dribble, the winger are all kick and runs.

Coppell has to to say what he thinks his players will react to best

            as for
"Realistically he is yet to set the world on fire in this division but as he got his goals he grew in stature. We had to take more gambles and that only opened up more avenues for him."

that's true we're just a few games into the season. But we can see he's the real deal
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

It may have seemed to him that Torres blanked him, because he didn't seem to react or even look at Coppell. But you could hardly blame Fernando when a bald pixie runs up to you and seems to be after your match ball you're going to cack it aren't you.

Maybe coppell's comments came in the light of this apparent blanking.

It doesn't say much for the Reading defence if raw pace is all it takes to make bitches of them.

                      Kenneth?
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

none of the goals last night were due to kick and run. Coppel's never liked us since the palace days.

I think the comments are a bit Naive, maybe he didnt mean just what he said, obviously Torres', Pace is an attribute, but what about his Timing of Runs, Positional Sense, Strength (In the second half he basically tackled Bikey turned directions while carring him on his back in about 2 seconds and ran between 2 players)
There was a couple of Hit and Run occasions so to speak, Notibly of Momo, Carra and Leto, but we never scored of them, but then again if the oppositions defence is that high up the field, why not play to your strengths.
