Lets put this thread to bed and sum it up:

Apparently, Riise is a bit of an arsehole for not turning up at a meeting that he didn't say he was going be at!

    The End.

this reminds me of the film the king of comedy, you know the one with deniro in it

get over it mate, when a reply did not arrive it was a bit of a clue that it was not going to happen.

who knows why he didnt reply, there may have been a valid reason,to have a go because he walked by a complete stranger is ridiculous tbh.
You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.

Couldn't agree more. I support the club first and foremost and have always shunned contact with players. You know, approaching them in public etc. I've got mates who have always sniffed around players they've bumped into. I've actually walked away in disgust so I don't have to witness their arselicking. Is it any wonder players act the way they do when such sychophantistic behaviour exists? These pricks deserve everything they got for being so ****ing naive! I think my attitude exists 'cos Sammy Lee once told me and my mate to "**** off" outside the offy on Priory Road when I was about 10 or 11. That was a lesson well learned.
I also remember a tale from years back when a few of the lads from the Flatty/Arkles booked a weeks piss-up in Spain to coincide with a couple of friendlies over there (Osasuna rings a bell) . After a game a Liverpool player approached them and asked them if they fancied going back to LP's hotel for a drink. The player's offer was politely declined and told that they(the lads in question) were not the team's plaything and that they were fine where they were.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Yes. Sunnmøre is not the best place to be.

I have no problem beliving this story.
JAR is generally a nice guy, but sometimes gets things wrong/gets bad advise .
It wouldn`t cost him anything to say no from start. It could be that he was unsure when he got the invitation, but he could still explained himself when there was people waiting for him.
Ålesund isn`t that big, so he kneew they were coming.

JAR never said he'd attend so tough ****. Players dont owe anything to the fans except going onto the pitch and giving it 100% each time. they can do whatever they like after that as long as it doesnt affect their game

And the guy who supposedly got screwed was from Aalesund Liverbirds, presumably.

I really don't get where somebody can call one of our longest serving players a c u n t just for not turning upto a dinner engagement which he didn't even agree to do in the first place
