JAR never said he'd attend so tough ****. Players dont owe anything to the fans except going onto the pitch and giving it 100% each time. they can do whatever they like after that as long as it doesnt affect their game

But the polite thing to do is to at least decline the request.
Most people would accept that. Not answering at all is arrogant IMO.
The reply might have been lost in the way, but as I`ve allready I`m not surprised by this.

i had to give an award on behalf of the carrickmacross liverpool supportors club. it was a player of the season award. we voted for JAR and i got to meet him at anfield after drawing with villa. he was such a nice guy, answered all our questions, signed lots of autograpgs and posed for lots of photos. but maybe people change i guess

I've heard a hundred stories like this about a hundred players. They get asked to do **** all the time, they can't do everything. Was he a bit immature in the way he handled it? Possibly. Is he a **** because he didn't use his time off to do what someone else wanted? Er...no.
