Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Wenger is a purist and his teams play the game and appeals to a wider audience. I don't think he has the substance to outwit the more tactically oriented teams though. He won the league because he had brilliant players, such as Henry and Bergkamp and an outstanding backline in Tony Adams, Bould & al.

it depends who was in front of him.......clichy arrived at the same age as insua and would still be in the reserves if cole would have stayedOriginally posted by PostmanPat View PostHe learned his lesson after Jeffers and rarely buys English players due to inflated prices and better players on the continent.Walcott is the exception but IMO he will be class in a year or two.He bought Clichy and Toure for peanuts and they are worth over 10m each now.
He places his trust in the kids and fills them with confidence and if they are good enough the will play.
Like all managers he has bought flops but he has also bought unbelievable players. If Insua was with them he would have played more by now.
Armand Traore is younger and has more games under his belt than Insua._____________________________________

Benitez took over a side that had nothing, no style, balance, quality, imagination, nothing. Just before the season started he lost Owen, the only player Liverpool could depend on for goals.Originally posted by IanTatt View PostWenger has refused to spend on garbage players just to appease the fans. he waited, Ok had a couple of poor seasons, but he refused to spend money on players that would not be around for years to come. He has now a masive transfer kitty, plus new backers coming in. Benitez has just tried to fill holes with the likes of crouch, pennant, Kuty, Voronin, (free), bellamy. And Wenger still has a better balanced team without spending big.........
At that time Wenger's "invincibles" had gone an entire season unbeaten and were being touted as one of the greatest sides ever.
Since then Benitez has achieved better results than Wenger in the League, European Cup and FA Cup; while matching him in the League Cup.
If Rafa had the same results as Wenger these past three seasons, he probably wouldn't be manager of LFC.
Your post is actually ridiculously poor.
I am a great admirer of Wenger and what he has achieved, but your post is based on 2 months of the season, which is even sillier considering both Liverpool and Arsenal are undefeated.
And they are probably the two youngest squads in the league."The definition of insanity is not running into the same wall again and again; it's expecting a different result every time you do it."

is the same Wenger eveybody had written off at the beginning of the year?!
I remember that year they started off awesome and then from October went seriously downhill. I really dont believe they have the squad to challenge on all 4 fronts_____________________________________

You were saying that Wenger has given Traore more playing time than Benitez has given Insua. Well, given that Insua’s been with us for a matter of months, and Traore’s been at Arsenal for a couple of years, this is hardly surprising.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostHow does it?Wenger would have given him games if he had the talent no matter how long he was there.I like Wenger a hell of a lot more than Mourinho and Fergie.
What are you sighing for? **** off and support Arsenal if you love him so much.Originally posted by sid View Post
Wenger has done a great job – I’ve never denied that – but he is not flawless, either in the transfer market or on the training pitch….despite what many of the arse-lickers would have us believe.
Correct. Wenger knows one way of playing and one way only. Granted, their tippy-tappy football is pretty but he’s tactically bankrupt. What, exactly, have they won over the last few years? He’s had a decade in the job and still hasn’t won a European Cup. He will not be a genuinely great manager until he wins that. Sorry, but that’s the way it is.Originally posted by fredo View PostWenger is a purist and his teams play the game and appeals to a wider audience. I think Wenger is a great manager but the original post fails to take into account the fact that the purchases mentioned come from a time when Wenger had a squad full of his own choices of players and also a much superior team to the one Rafa inherited. Add to that the fact that until this summer the two clubs spending has been pretty evenly matched then the argument looses a lot of weight.
There does appear to be a new bread of insufferably ******ish Arsenal supporters emerging. I still prefer them in general to Manc or Chelsea supporters though.
Oh. And I think Pennant is a very good player who adds width to our team - however his placeis always in danger when his crosses don't produce goals as he doesn't score any. He is a bit of a form dip at the minute but I think he will work his way out of it."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think Wenger deserves a place as a great manager for what he has done domestically and his style of play. In an increasingly physique/fitness dominated game he has retained a sense of style.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostCorrect. Wenger knows one way of playing and one way only. I would also put Rafa as a great manager of LFC despite his not having won a league title - maybe I'm too easily pleased."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think that says it all. Argue against that Ian Tatt.
Wenger has worked wonders at Arsenal make no mistake, and if he wins the league this season given again how little he's spent in the trasnfer market this past close season then he woill be rightly acclaimed as a genius and will be acclaimed by me as the best manager in Premiership history. But make no mistake, Arsenal have acheived nothing of note yet, neither this season or in fact since Rafa has been at Liverpool (with the exception of boring the country to death on their way to winning the FA Cup). They are the only top 4 side so far this season who has not played a fellow top 4 team, so let's hold on a sec until they play a noteworthy team before we acclaim them as champions. Their squad still looks thin off the ground to me, and they've not really played too many away fixtures yet.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

As much as I love Rafa and as great as I personally believe he is, he won’t be universally recognised as an LFC great until he wins the league. Same applies to Wenger and the Champions League IMO.
I like Wenger a damn sight more than Ferguson, but Purple Nose has won it all with an attacking brand of football just as attractive as Wenger’s.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Anyway all this is irrelevant, if at the end of the season we are League champions and Arsenal arent who has the better value for money??
