Pourie is ****ing quality! Strong as an ox and always, always scoring goals. This lad will be huge!Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostThis is pretty ****ing exciting.
Add Bruna to a list of great young potential, notably Duran, Pacheco, Pourie, Nemeth...plus slightly more 'senior' players like Lucas and Insua. Fantastic work from Rafa and the scouting department.
SURELY one of the these, at least, will make the breakthrough...

That's how it works with recruiting youth though isn't it. Le Gems etc etc etc yawnOriginally posted by andyinswinton View PostI begun to think that we have signed a lot of kids from all over the place in the hope that a couple will come through to the first team and even if they don't, a nice sell on fee wouldn't hurt. That's the one...

I am still hopeful that Anderson and Hammill can make it, I would say the latter has more chance though, even though, I know it is likely to be wishful thinking from me.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostThis is pretty ****ing exciting.

SURELY one of the these, at least, will make the breakthrough...Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

It will probably be next season or never for both of them.Originally posted by bazza76 View PostI am still hopeful that Anderson and Hammill can make it, I would say the latter has more chance though, even though, I know it is likely to be wishful thinking from me.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Not at the amount of kids we have signed over the past 18 months or so. We spent a bundle on the gems and put a lot of eggs in one basket. We probably have spent much less in recruiting a whole host of youth talent.Originally posted by Robster007 View PostThat's how it works with recruiting youth though isn't it. I doubt there is a club in Europe who has made such an effort in signing youth players from all over the planet.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Arsenal started about 2 years before we did and I think they have spent serious money on young players to go straight into the first team.Originally posted by NoddyExcept for Arsenal
I don't think they have bought as many young players for the reserves as we have.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
