We don't have skillful enough players yet to get our game flowing like Rafa's Valencia did but we will soon be there IMO.

Lucas, Leto, Insua and Gerardo is a step in the right direction.

He will never play an Aimar type player as he recognises the difference in the pace of the game, the slow build up in Spain affords you the luxury of such a player defensively as you can arrange your midfield and defense more easily, Rafa feels that the pressure Kuyt applies on the oppositions build up prevents them breaking on a disorganised defense, and oh it ****in works as well which is why we dont afford many teams chances never mind goals.....I thank you...

You're right and you explain it well, but I am still not having the notion of a 'defensive striker'. It's a joke.

We have enough defensive minded midfielders, allied of course to four defenders and a keeper, to be resilient without having some huffing and puffing from a 'defensive striker'.

There are such things as creative 2nd strikers who also work hard without the ball. They're not all genial, mercurial lazy-arses.

That's what we should have - not a clogger with an admirable work-rate.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well, we will have to wait and see. I think that we will play more attacking when we have the players to do it and that means using a more skillful attacking player that don't work as hard as Kuyt in that position.

Playing Benayoun there would be a good start, at least in our home games.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

For the record i agree with you but this is the way he is going for it, a good example of how it works is United at home last year, they didnt create a single one of their fast breakaway chances against us, yeah we lost unjustly but the system nullified their chief weapon "pace". If it works and we keep the form up and can use Torres more effectively against opposition that parks a bus in front of the Anfield goal then Kuyt will get his recognition from those who understand whats happening.
I ****in Love Dirk cos he loves the fans too.

This new kid from Madrid sounds like an exciting prospect too. The fact that we are attracting this type of player alone is cause for excitement. I attribute that to Rafa personally.

Slight change of tack, but i'm watching the highlights of the match at the mo.

Aurelio sent a horribly overhit pass/cross from the left, second half. Kuyt ran right across the pitch chasing it. It was destined to be a goal-kick, and the defender duly put himself in the way and was marshalling it into touch. It was a lost cause. Kuyt ran right around him and headed it into space and retained possession. He then played it to a teammate who had a chance on the edge of the box to make something happen.

It didn't, but that's not my point.

Kuyt does this so much and it largely goes unnoticed/unrecognised/unacknowledged because he's a striker and he'sthere to score goals.

              One more thing.

I HATE that dirty **** Brown. What a horrible ******.
              That's the one...

It isn't Kuyts fault that he don't score more goals, or is on the end of more crosses so I can't really blame him.

It's Rafa who decides the tactic and it has worked so far, not very good but it has worked and we are still undefeated.
