    The thing is, there are people who cry out that we should sign these amazing players instead of the "average joes" we bought, but who are these amazing players?

    Quaresma, the amazing winger who showed against us that he can't cross the ball?

    Mancini, the guy Roma refused to sell?

    Who are these amazing players?

      The only two players I can think of that fitted the bill for me (although I accept the risk they would have represented) were Simao and Quaresma. As I have said not sure the wage/fee made them a better option than what we ended up buying.

      The criticism of Quaresma is to some degree fair but what players such as Lennon have proved is that if you get to the byeline at pace in the PL the quality of ball back in doesn't really matter - you will always worry defences and create chances.

          Yossi is a great player alright, sure proved this in the last two games ... BUT NO LIL LUIS THOUGH

            I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

                          On certain things yes, I thought that Torres was going to flop and some other things. (i.e Seeing that Puerta is dead my dream of him flying down our left wing has shattered) But not with Yossi, I was one of the few people that defended him and said the signing made sense. I stick by what I said, he's not a superstar, he's not out of this world but he's more consistent than Garcia and can create a chance/goal out of nothing. We have a lack of players capable of that so we needed him and at the price available sounded acceptable.
