You could select Yossi on the nech as a Winger and CM and then have "the worlds best young Left back".

Don't get me wrong he might be good, but he hasn't really been mentioned for playing in important matches. Like you said Riise was good enough a few years ago but now we want to win the league we need someone better.

He has scored some cracking goals, but the simple fact is he is not good enough. He can't cross to save himself, and he shoots to often.

I dont even need to get into his defensive abilities (or lack of).

Arbeloa is streets ahead.

Apart from setting Torres up for the winner when he came on at Reading....Oh and apart from crossing for SG to head home in Istanbul.....

His shooting is ok. Name me a left back who scores better or more spectacular goals and more regularly.

We have had consistently one of, if not the best defence in the premiership over the last 3 years or so. That wouldn't have been the case if we were carrying a passenger as people are suggesting Riise is.

He's played a lot of games in midfield though Reece. Certainly in Rafa's first season, Traore seemed to be the first choice Left Back from what I can remember.

That's an interesting question actually, who was the better Left Back - Riise or Traore? Looks like Riise has taken on Traore's role as the scapegoat when things aren't going smoothly.

Aurelio, Arbeloa and probably even Insua are better LB options. Kewell, Aurelio, Babel and Leto are better LM options.

Aurelio appears to be very injury prone thus far, and as for Kewell? Dont be silly.

even the worst crossers in the world can still deliver a decent ball every now and then. His crossing is very poor, there is no argument.

Finnans is also poor IMO, he is accurate, but he floats balls into the box. They need to be whipped in with pace and a bit of bend.

Riise hasn't scored in the league for nearly a year mate. Its just that most of the goals he does score are ****ing belters.

wouldnt surprise me. The quality of his goals overshadow the amount of shots he takes to score one.

Aurelio is our best left back, followed by Riise. I like Riise a lot, as much as he has some deficiencies position wise, he's been a mainstay of our team for 6 years now. He still needs to improve if he wants to win another contract though as Rafa is clearly not satisfied of that position.

I'm sick to the back teeth seeing people criticizing individuals when football is a TEAM game. (Not aimed at you Harvey ) There's an excellent article from Wenger in the Guardian today which people should read.

yup, 6 yrs is a testamnet to the lad, he's got his deficiencies, but so has Cole, Bridge, Evra and Clichey.
